Changed grips on my Springfield 1911-A1

Not S&W but still a real nice pistol

I have a PX9154LP and changed to carbon fiber grips today. I LOVE carbon fiber, unfortunately they are not real. But still look nice. Thought I'm gonna share this with you guys

Look nice to me. Go well with the pistol. If that are not carbon fiber what are they made of?

Well, I doubt that they are real. Think it's more laminated fiberglass...

Still look nice, here are some real ones. Not cheap though

Carbon Grips, Maker of Quality Gun Grips For Kimber 1911, Colt 1911, 1911 Smith & Wesson, Springfield 1911, Caspian 1911 and more.

On my new CZ SP01 Shadow Custom, I opted for the Aluminum grips rather than the Coco Bolo wood. The CZ is a big gun to begin with, and the aluminum grips are much thinner, I imagine the Carbon fiber would be also and pretty much indestructible. If yours are glass or polymer they should last also,

Their Double Diamond 1911 Polished actually look exactly like the ones which were mounted when I bought it. I found mine on GunBroker and they were less expensive...

Need some for my wifes Colt Defender too, but not sure if carbon or Wilson Combat. WC has some on sale right now...

I like wooden grips too, but carbon is just the icing on the cake to me

I kind of like Rosewood on a 1911. One thing that has me puzzled is how that can possibly be identified as a 1911-A1. IIRC the A1 should have an arched mainspring housing and a short trigger. In addition I don't think that either the original or the A1 featured foward serrations, Novak sights, or a finish anywhere near that pretty.

Yeah, I'm being picky. Fact is that it just bugs me when some Marketing Hack revives a historic identifier and associates that identifier with something that doesn't have the slightest resemblence to the original. Since it's a Springfield I wouldn't turn one down, however I would make sure that they knew that their marketing Hack needs to be educated.

That's very true. It's a nice gun, I'm kinda diggin' the grips but it's not an A1.

Mmmh, I saw this model in my dealers display and had to have it. This SS and black looks just awesome to me. Afterwards I did contact SA because of this model and here's what I got:
