Well, as best as I can see from the pictures and the serial number, you have a late 1944 or early 1945 production RR; I can't see it, but I believe you may have the serrated main spring housing as opposed to checkered, and a serrated slide stop as opposed to checkered. #2465139 is the last pistol produced ny RR btw. You do have the HA marking on the barrel lug which is more common...C for Colt, SP for Springfield Armory, and F for Flanery are less common. Oh, and it's a 1911A1, and I'll let you tell me why.
From just the fotos, I would have to say you did OK. If you're going to shoot it, then it will be fine, judging by the wear of the innards. The cosmetics show wear, some careless I imagine.
When you're ready to sell, call me first.

Most folks that want one would have bought it at a grand. You did OK. I've seen some sell in the 12-1400 range.

My folks gave me a Remington Rand for Christmas, 1960. They paid the original owner $25 for it. (His cost was $17.50 through the DCM). Still have it in pretty much original condition. I fire it about once a year for old times' sake.
A couple of years later, while in college, I felt the need for another. A friend was going to a gun show. I gave him $45 to find me a good GI .45. He brought me back a minty RR and $10 change. Still have that one, too, although it has evolved a lot in all this time.
Needless to say, it was a different time.

very nice pistol. the magazine was made by scoville, one of three or four sub-contractors who made mags during WWII. the high standard barrel is the most common in RR's with a few flanerys seen time to time. shoot it and enjoy it. lee

[QUOTE=alde;137099650]My friend and I took a day off work a few days ago and came on a gun shop in an old church building. It had the creaky wooden floor and all. I saw this Remington Rand in the consignment case with a price tag of $1000. I asked if the price was firm and he said he could call the owner with an offer. I offered $850 and he came back with $900. I took it home.
Al, Send me $50.00 or I will call your wife and drop a dime on you. Comprendere
Imagine sometime in May

Nice!
I love it when someone I "know" (meaning a S&W Forum member) comes on a deal like that. About a year ago I saw two "mixmasters," neither in nearly as good shape as yours appears, sell way north of $1000. I bid up to $750 on both (it was a live auction) but nothing doing.
The folks at 1911forumdotcom are the experts. Here is a link to a thread on an old arsenal rebuild pistol I had.
