Default Non-Smith .357 Range Report

I got my Old Model Blackhawk out for a range session today. I was able to find a pair of grips until I get my Black Eagles that are not the greatest but they will work. I had some handloads of a #358156 hollowpoint of around 150 grains with 13.5 grains of 2400. Due to my arm injury all my shooting has to be done rested one handed. Recoil was brisk but no unpleasant. Once I got the gun sighted I just let her rip. I pulled a couple out of the bullseye but with a bit more practice she will do everything I want it to do when it comes to whitetails.

Nice Shooting. Next to my Smiths, I really like the 3 screw Rugers.

And it's nice to hear you're on the mend, too.

Ended up with two of those. The first one has been hanging around since 1979. The last one since the late '90s. Both good-shooting guns.
The second one has an auxiliary 9mm cylinder. Hard to run out of ammo for that one, even these days.

I have carried my first Blackhawk while deer hunting but never shot it
at a deer. Took a snowshoe hare with it and fired it at a grouse on the
ground once. Missed right over the back of the grouse.

Mostly used it for plinking, as a go-along gun for trout fishing, and for NRA Hunter's Pistol Silhouette. The deal I got on it seems even better
these days.
