I'd say that $750 would be on the low end of fair market range in my area. I'd expect to see a pistol like that priced at about $800 in 'most any retail shop around here.

$750 is a go.
Browning Hi Powers are way up and
continuing to climb.
MSRP is around 1k +
They have been assembled in Portugal way before they were required to stamp that way.

I don't have enough prices for a trend but enough for pretty good average and as Xfuzz posted, prices are climbing:
Browning Hi-Power Pistol in 9 mm. Blue Book of Gun Values (33rd Edition) indicates between $655 in 95% condition and $970 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 40 recorded prices for this model gun from $625 to $1281 over a period of 1 Yrs 7 Mos ending August 24, 2013. The average price as of that date was $823. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. Adjusted to two magazines. All represented as 95% or better. No distinction for import location or engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $1150.

Prices are creeping up to the $1000 mark up here. Used ones aren't far behind. Interestingly enough, the price you quoted is about what it would cost here as well.

Howie, funny thing, the gun came out of Texas. It came from the fella's FIL. I'll try to post more pics he sent. Sounds like a buy though from popular sentiment. Geez, another gun

I would say that is a reasonably fair price for one with 2 mags. I presume they are 13 round mags?. I have one that is all Belgium made, and I bought it new in 1971 for 94.00 if you can believe that. Bet it does not have 100 rounds through it. I looked on a couple sites and saw 70's vintage ones as high as 1300.00. I do not know if Browning still did it in the 80's, but mine came in a pistol rug from the factory. Of course money being money and in short supply in 71, 94.00 was a respectable consideration. As I look back, I can remember that the fully engraved rennisance model was 295.00 brand new. Should have done whatever it to to get a dozen of them.

I paid $699 plus tax two years ago for mine and haven't seen another as clean since. Every firearms enthusiast/collector should feel the joy of owning a Browning High Power. Mine has the high profile target sights and was made in the 1980's.

I own my share of handguns and I can tell you that nothing beats the BHP in hand IMO, period. It is my nightstand gun and I keep it in condition 1. At that price, buy it.

Knowing the market here in Minnesota I would say that is a good deal too. I'm a fan of Hi-Powers so I keep an eye open for them locally and they seem to be kept rather than sold.
That is even a good price for Gun Broker

Just got back from gunbroker and there's about 225 of them. All the way from around $450 to $1200+.
A bunch looked to be from the same place, parkered and cheap. Canadian mil surp?
I've got a lot of learning to do

I got this 1965 Model for $450 a few years ago. I've never seen another like it.

I got this one a few months ago for seven bills and I think I did OK. I love it - I think you will, too.

Love the Hi Power! There is not another double stack that fits my hand the way the Hi Power does.
This is my 3rd, and I've yet to see one malfunction.
I found this 1977 specimen 3 years ago, and paid $600!
