Christmas Present to Myself, Winchester 69a
I have some Winchester 69a's but never found a nice one with a grooved receiver. But it so happened that a buddy of mine had found a pair of them earlier this year and offered me one. I had a vintage Leupold 4x and mated the two together. I haven't shot it yet but it looks good

I like mine quite a bit, but mine doesn't have a grooved receiver.
Do you already know that the triggers are somewhat adjustable?

Bob,
I don't think I've ever read that. This one seems plenty light enough for me as-is but that's not to say someone else might have adjusted it a bit.
I just love these little .22s, they are one of those guns that I cant resist at a good price. I'd have a closet full if they came around often enough.

I have a 69A also and I so wish I had a picture to show you. I love 22 rifles and this is one of my favorites.

Still have my circa 1953 or so 69A. Bought new (I was 10 or so), and shot a LOT !
Have refinished the stock, added a Merit Sight Disc (highly recommended) for my old eyes.
My rifle has the 80A peep, hooded front bead, and I absolutely love it. It's shot nearly every week, on our "farm", has accounted for uncounted coyotes, snappers, poisonous snakes, etc.
I own lots of more expensive, high end guns, but it would be the last rifle, that I would part with.
I wonder sometimes, how we can get so emotionally involved, with an inanimate thing, like an old rifle, but I am definitely there.
Am planning to pass it on, to a favorite nephew, that loves to hunt, with the stipulation, that he never sells it, and passes it on to HIS son.

Nice gun Kris, looks like you have some shooting to do. Hope it's an accurate gun. Last nite I bought a mint Marlin 39 made in 1947. Guess it's my present to myself. Have a great Christmas, should be fun with the little one. Larry

Be careful, you could end up with a closet full of 69s. Here are mine, a 69 Dual Sight, 69A grooved, 69A Target, 69A Match. As you can see, I have no self control. Not in this picture is my 69A Junior Target Shooters Special. There are many good threads on the 69s on Rimfirecentral.
Here is the JTSS 69A
I'm not addicted, I can quit anytime.

A friend of mine is into Winchesters like I am into S&W's. He has a 69a JTSS as well. That's a neat little gun!

Nice pick up Kris! I was lucky enough to have mine handed down to me from my Grandma. She got it brand new.... Not sure how old. Went to my Dad, now to me. Has peep sight and hooded front sight. Great .22!

I really like them for informal offhand shooting. That long skinny barrel hangs well, without being too heavy for an old creaky dude:
