Ruger 22 Standard value?
I stumbled across this gun, likely purchased new by a cousin back in the late 50's. A good friend of mine collects these Rugers. Any idea what this thing is worth? I'd like to offer it to my buddy at a very reasonable price. I'd give it to him, but he prob wouldn't take it. I'd like an idea what it's worth if any folks on this board could help me out. I'm guessing $200 bucks. Any thoughts? Thanks. FYI, just had a gunsmith clean it and inspect it. I'm trying to figure out how to post more photos to this thread.

If the mag feeds properly and the gun looks to be in ex condition,I'd figure $300

Some years back I was picking these up, used, for family members. The last one--a nice one--was about $160. So you are in the ballpark.
Personally I prefer the earlier ones anyway; less is more.

If it had the box and papers, it's a $400 gun. Gun alone, $325-350.

I posted a Ruger .22 Standard pistol value thread almost exactly like this here not too long ago.
I forget who, but somebody said it was worth keeping.

Everything depends on condition. It looks good, but I can't see the bluing very well in those pics. If the bluing is worn off in some spots, it will top out at about $300-$350. If I were looking for one (if you're honest, aren't we all, really?) I'd pay no more than $300. If it has all the blue, then I'd go as high as $350.
Of course all that means nothing. If this guy is a friend, I think $200 is more than fair.

Btw, no box/papers. Just this Brauer holster. I'm guessing from same era.

About the $300 area. Looks in good condition with black eagle plastic stocks. $25 to $50 more if with box and paper work.

I would go $250-$300 if it functions nicely. If you are selling to a friend I would go as low as $200 if he will let you shoot it on occasion. I am not so sure I would say it would be over $300 without a box and papers. But, like I said if it is a friend then $200 is a "good friend" price and $250 is a "regular" friend price.

If your friend knows his Rugers, he will be overjoyed to get it for just $200. But since he already has a few, why not just keep it? It would be hard to find anything more fun to shoot, or easier to shoot well.

The last one I saw at my LGS was tagged at $369.00, no box or papers. It didn't stay there long, but I have no idea what they took for it.
Personally I'd keep it...and the Brauer holster. They're fun shooters, and good ones.

If the whole gun is in this condition I'd say you have a very fine one there!
I Kind of collect the M II's and M I but do not have that early version. My LGS has one now but not in very good condition so I passed on it. Yours looks great, hold on to it!.

A friend bought one at the local gun show in the KC MO area this weekend - no box or papers - 98% with a leather holster and two factory original magazines for $300.
