Default Engraving your 1911?

I would like to have my 1911 gun engraved. Maybe the gun i give to my son - Have his name on it -just the letters--- JR.
Has anyone did this or have a picture to show .

We had our department name laser engraved on some Glock slides by Lone Wolf and was pleased.

This young fella is not well-known,but he does pretty good work for very reasonable prices. Give him a call.

I sent mine out last year to a well known master engraver. He suggested a lot of swirls and such on the slide and frame, but all I wanted was a simple vertical line behind my trigger guard...I think he did a pretty good job.

That's some fine craftsmanship right there. Anybody can get the nice, neat little line on the frame. It takes a special sort of talent to get the engraving to extend upward onto the slide like that...
