Need a new knife...

I love knives and have a real weakness for them. Sip, I feel your pain. Finding that perfect knife is not easy.

I hesitate to suggest this one, but I've been lusting after it for some time now:

It is a Benchmade Triage. The one pictured has a straight blade(my favorite), but they make a version with a half serrated blade. This knife fits all your parameters, but one; price. It runs about $145 and in my opinion is worth more.

Cold Steel does indeed make some good knives. However, their CEO is a whacko.

Ol' Lynn is unique. But hey, when you've reached his level & have money to spare, why not? Most wealthy types are a bit eccentric.

At least he's pro gun unlike too many other Californian CEO's.

I am glad you started this thread Sip. I don't own this knife but I have to say I like the way it looks. I bet it is pretty sharp as well. Is it made in China? That would be a deal breaker for me. Any clue guys?

Pretty sure it's either made overseas or the components are and then it's assembled here.

Yes, he's pro gun. Unique? The Edsel was unique too, but not in a good way. Have you seen his "training" videos? Eccentric? Being eccentric is fine, but when you purport to be a self-defense expert, you should know what you're doing rather than teach techniques that can get guys killed or put in jail.

They do make good knives though.

He's a flake. Being pro-gun and being a flake are not mutually exclusive. Some say I'm living proof of that.

Some of the knives his company sells are excellent. I wish they still offered the Country Classics line of pocketknives; but since I'm fairly sure they were made by Camillus, that's not likely.
