Anyone ever seen one of these. A friend has it and is trying to get more info. His brother got it from fighting in the Philippines.
Switch Blade works but tip is broke off. Can be dry fired.
Blade is marked with " BAZAR", base of handle is marked-" Springer", opposite end near blade trigger marked-" C 16", opposite side marked-"C12", Blade says -"made in Germany" on base of blade

Several companies have tried this combination. In the US a company built a similar gun, shooting a 22 long cartridge, and a trappers blade. It was marketed for the fur trapper, relieving him of carrying both gun and knife. The combo never sold well and was soon discontinued. The only sample I ever saw was in the Cody Museum.

I believe that you refer to the Powell knife gun.

I've seen them advertised in .38 and .45, too. I think San Juan Enterprises may still make them.

I never heard of the Powell knife, I believe the knife I saw was made by the American Knife company IIRC and it was definitely a 22 caliber and marketed to the fur trappers. Somewhere in my antique knife books I have an advertisement of the knife I was talking of.

I worked for a man who had one of those 40 years ago and it was old then. It took a .22 Short. He is long dead and I'm betting the same family member who absconded with his 1886 Winchester .45-90 got the little knife, too.

Accidental discharge in pocket sounds bad! I can just see me reaching into my pocket and shooting something important....how you going to explain that at the ER ?
Very neat weapon, Thanks for posting.

The PKP (Powell Knife Pistol) is a completely different design and a modern creation. For the man who is invited to a knife fight. ;)

Springer Bazar

I have one as well. I've been trying to find info on it but haven't had much success.

Wouldn't those fall under NFA, AOW - a gun that does not look like a gun?
