Hello all,
Though I am not a member of the cult of the .32, I know plenty of you here are. With that in mind - did you catch these?

http://ruger.com/products/newModelSingleSixDE/models.html

Quick details:
-Distributor special from Lipsey's
-Stainless with wood grips
-Adjustable sights
-7 round cylinder
- available with 4 5/8", 5 1/2", and 7 1/2" barrels

I'm excited that Ruger still supports 327 Fed Mag, which is a caliber that didn't get the love it deserved in my mind. These look like they will be excellent field guns. Maybe S&W will work up a 327 K- or L-frame if these make a big enough splash?

I saw this on the Ruger site yesterday. I have no experience with .32 calibers but I've been wanting a .327 Magnum.

Sadly when I went to look for one, Ruger discontinued their GP100, SP101, and their Blackhawk in .327.

If I can get some money together I will definitely snag one of them with the 5.5 inch barrel.

No thank you... a revolver should have six holes in the cylinder at a maximum, and no more. Until and unless we start marketing ammunition in 49, 56, and 63 round boxes (or whatever is evenly divisible by either seven or eight)... And I feel exactly the same way about the aberrations in Smith revolvers: specifically the 686+ versions and the various ten shot 617s...

Nothing wrong with more than six shots in a revolver for me.
I would love to own this gun, but as there are not even one round of .327 ammo sold in South Africa, I can forget about it.

...because six divides evenly into fifty?

Already ordered one. I have been waiting for just this since I got my 32 mag. Now if they will just hurry up and ship.

It's hard for new stuff to break through sometimes. When it comes out all the people who have no interest pile on to tell the interested people how dumb it is. 327 is an excellent concept. It's(and before it the .32 H&R) always made a lot of sense to me in pocket revolvers. 6>5.

No, because I load five at a time and keep the hammer on an empty chamber. Five times ten equals fifty. Also, I do have a couple of five shot revolvers. Like I said: five times ten equals fifty.

I figured most adults would have been able to figure that out without my having to explain it...

I'm puzzled. I thought the 327 was the same length as the 32/20, and the 32/20 is too long to fit in a Single Six.

Why would you leave an empty chamber on a modern revolver?

If you load 5 in your 6 shots, why don't you follow trend and load 4 in your 5 shots? Guess I failed my 'most adult' test for the day :p

One in the 4 5/8" barrel will be coming home with me. Curious how they fit it as well seeing as custom conversions require one to open the cylinder window some.

I've got "Colt-type" actions and I've got "Ruger New Model" actions, and I put five in all of them. I never have to worry about accidentally loading six in an old-style action.

Just the way I learned:

DA revolvers - fill 'em up.
SA revolvers - only load five.

I've been looking for a Blackhawk in 327 for a while, and they seem to be non-existent.

I'm going to have to scrape together the cash to buy one of these.

Uhhhh.... because five times ten equals fifty? Sorry, but I feel like I am repeating myself.

The best of all possible worlds is a custom Model 14 I saw on GunsAmerica roughly a year ago and couldn't make myself buy... it was done by Dave Clements, and consisted of a cylinder in 327 Federal and a 4" barrel from a Model 16-4. Absolutely exquisite, and why Smith doesn't put that one out I do not understand...

Thanks for posting this link. I am part of the 32 cult and my SP101 in 327 is one if my favorite newer revolvers. I got a feeling that this single 6 will probably take the place of my old Blackhawk. Only thing better would be like your mentioned and S&W come out with a nice K or L frame in the 327 or reintroduce the 632 so used ones would be would be a little more economical.

I talked to a few places today, and one told me that they had already placed an order for one of these...I just have to wait for it to arrive!

(By the way, if one is concerned about their ammo boxes coming out evenly, can't one still load only 5 rounds in a 7-shot revolver?)

What is the going price for a Single- Seven with 5.5 inch barrel?

The MSRP for stainless Single Sixes in .22 runs something like $639. The Ruger page doesn't show a MSRP for Models 8160, 8161, and 8162 yet. My guess for the retail price of the Single Six in .327 (some folks are calling it the Single Seven) is around $500 to $550, after the initial rush passes.

I will be part of that initial rush, looking for one in 5.5" It will be a great kit gun when I go fishing.
