Default Who has an X-Bolt?

I have been looking at Browning X-Bolt rifles whenever I get into Gander Mountain. I don't need a new rifle, but...

They seem like nice guns to me. But we all know sometimes looks are deceiving and sometimes one sees only what he hopes to see. So, does anyone here own one and/or know anything about them?

What about the rather odd scope mount bases? Any opinions?

I have an x bolt in .243. If I could only have one rifle out of the locker that would be it. It's accurate, and have not had any issues. I have also had good luck with bases and my optics have been very secure and never moved using leupold rings.

I like that it uses a magazine so it can be loaded quickly and the rounds don't all have to go through the chamber. I also like the button on the bolt that allows it to be cycled with the safety still on.

Any thoughts on the magazine? Of all the things about the X-Bolt the synthetic magazine is what I like least. I suppose it is, in some ways, better than steel but it is a little unsettling.

There are also factory steel magazines available for some calibers.
