Default When You Cannot Buy A Gun...

...Buy a knife. Went in a little local gun shop the other day and they did not have anything of interest as far as guns go but they did have this pretty little Gerber. I had the camera out this morning so snapped a quick one of it.
Anyone else got a new knife recently?

This is not actually a recent buy.
Had it for a while, really like it.
And it's on this iPad

I went to the local gun show two weeks ago; almost a total loss but I spied this thing under glass with a lot of other junk. It's a Barry Wood folder, made for Colt. You don't see them very oftenl

I went into a local big box store recently to get a few things and
walked out with a knife model that I've owned before and thought I
really didn't want again. A Buck 110 folding hunter. I have a 112 and
the 110 just seems too big. But this year's 110 has a 50th anniversary
emblem in the wood and seems better finished than usual. The price
at the store is less than I've seen anywhere else so I thought why not.

To borrow a phrase I read recently, "I'm kinda like a monkey. I like glittery things." That explains the two purchases below. They're Colt knives made in China, so they are pretty inexpensive. While the steel in 'em is certainly not the very best, it's good enough for me and they are well made. Best of all, they sure sparkle.

I gather knives not really into brands but looks. I have some puma folding knives and some 10" & 12" blade Spanish made knives. I have the marine orginal knives, a bayonet collection. Of course the Rambo clone knives.
My Spanish knives are the most expensive knives I have.

Which Spanish makers? I have a Muela Tornado from Spain. Muela seems to do good work.

Picked up the Puma "Duke" off a table at a gun show a few weeks ago.
Seller was "firm" at $85.00. So I did not argue. 1973 vintage.

I'll have to take some pictures of it but I found a nice old Imperial folder in excellent shape at an antique store for $5 a couple of weeks ago. I am going to put it in one of my packs for hunting. My new carry knife for when I hit the woods is my US Air Force Survival knife. I have come to really like that knife for doing a lot of work for not much money.

When I was a youngster and couldn't buy guns I bought knives. As an adult I still buy knives when it don't have quite enough for a gun. Probl is if I hadn't bought all those knives I could of bought guns. It's a sickness But Fun!
Every time I bring a new one home She says do you really need another one! What's a guy to do?

I am not allowed to own or carry a sharp knife, so I usually purchase a "Gun Show Special" for $5.00. There is always a table full of them with different color handles. I normal pick a pink color. This method assures me my knife will not be stolen or borrowed.

I wanted one of the short Ka-Bar knives for quite a while and found a new one at the last gun show:

And, a aircrew survival knife:

I don't know why but I buy knives I will never actually use!!

Just cause I guess........

What I would do is go to your wife's shoe closet and ask her why she needs so many shoes...
Or, you can steal Jimmy's pink knife and give it to your wife.
