I've got an access in my desk drawer right now. Pretty handy and well constructed.

Never tried their fixed-blade knives, but I've owned a Flash (gave it to my son) and two plain-edge, drop-point Flash II's. Gave the first one to my sister, who is disabled but hates (fears) guns and won't carry pepper spray. Had to get myself a new one. I like them except for the fact that when my loony little dog is running circles around me his lead can get caught under the pocket clip and lift it from my pocket.

I've been carrying a Spyderco Endura lately, but the Flash II is at hand as I write this and I'll probably carry it more now that cold weather has set in--easier to open when wearing gloves or with cold hands.

Maybe not quite love for the knife, but certainly a lot of appreciation. Well-made, quite decent steel, and good ergonomics for my taste.

I love my Blink (pictured in the middle of the OP), it is the easiest non-automatic to deploy.

Never owned a SOG knife, but I carry one of their tactical tomahawks in my trucks tool box. Well made, and has proven useful on a couple of occasions while camping / off roading.

IMHO, SOG knives are as good as production knives get. A lot of performance for the buck. ............ Big Cholla

I like the few that I have, I have a flash ii also (with yellow zytel) and it makes it into my EDC sometimes. The other one I have is the mini-fielder which I carry on formal occasions, it looks great and isn't that intimidating when I pull it out around classier non-knife folk.

i have seal pup. i don't remember the version. i consider it a fine knife. it takes and holds a good edge, does not rust and has a good sheath. i am a big spyderco fan but really like the seal pup and will never get rid of it.

I have a seal pup and topo meridian. I've been carrying the meridian almost daily for 9-10 years. A few years ago i stopped by their office because the safety was sticking. They sharpened it and replaced the handle while i was waiting, Free of charge.

I have just the one, a Flash II Tanto. I have not really bonded with it, but to be fair, I bought it because the price was good, not because I really liked the knife to begin with. I would probably like it much better with a drop point instead of the tanto blade.

^+1 for me as well. Not to mention the free entertainment that I have got watching my son throwing it. Yeah, he usually misses and then has to walk another 10 feet to go get it. He is usually muttering " I hate this thing" while he is walking over to get it. Me, I am smiling and not saying anything. Yeah it is good for about a half hour of free entertainment before he hangs it up.

Was in wally world the other day and they had SOG tommyhawks made of stainless steel for $20 bucks. Don't know what exact model it was but did say SOG on the package. As far as knives have two benchmade ones and two spyderco mariners. Plus one old buck 110 and a large case folder.

I think you would. The American tanto, which bears little if any relation to the Japanese tanto, has always struck me as being very limited as to usefulness. Except for stabbing stuff, which I don't do.

The drop point Flash II is a versatile cutter.

Have a Seal Pup, Tomcat folder in the safe and a Flash II in my pocket as I type. Glad I got the Tomcat when I did, seeing what they cost these days.

I think that most SOG owners are happy with their knives and the low cost ..
Who wants to lose a 200 dollar knife when hunting or backpacking ?

I've had this SOG Agency for awhile now. As Big Cholla said, it's darned good for a production knife. It takes a heckuva an edge...almost scary. A great knife for the price.

I have a FlashII like yours and at first was not impressed.
It came with too much blade wobble but after tightening the pivot screw a bit, it disappeared. Too much though, impedes the assisted opening.
Since adjusting its been fine.

Mule Packer: Is that a pair of 6X30 US service binoculars at the top of your photo. If so; nice catch. they're sturdy and have excellent optics.

I've carried the same SOG Autoclip for about 24 years. Except for a short period of time when I forgot I was wearing it and had to forfeit it over to TSA.

Then at a gunshow months later I found my knife for sale from a guy who won a TSA lot of confiscated knives. Needless to say I bought it back, and it has been riding in my pocket ever since.

Not real sure if they're US service. My dad picked them up in a pawn shop over 50 years ago. They're 6x30 and they're Zeiss optics. I'm thinking maybe WWII vintage. Surprisingly, they're still relatively bright and clear.

My kids bought me a SOG Escape last Christmas it's my first SOG and I pretty disappointed with it. The quality is not as good as I expected. The upside is that it's not very expensive, but it's made in China and compared to a knife from someone like CRKT the quality is just not there.

Regards,

Dave

I have two of the Tomahawks, had a Seal and Seal pup, an Assisted opening and two of the Sogfari machetes. The older made in Japan knives seem quite nice. The mass market Chinese made offerings...it seems that the cost of advertising the brand gets passed on, resulting in a slightly higher cost relative to performance than noname Chinese knives from the same factories

Howdy,
I have a Seki Jap made X-Ray. I have had it a long time. I do well with a big folder and highly recommend it.

Not sure that I "love" them but I've got an older Tigershark SK-5 powercoated model and a Seal Team and I'm fond of both.
