Rifle that will shot clear though a man!
Down in mountain country of the Blue Ridge the 32/20 was a popular gun. They didn't think it was necessary to burn excess powder and lead to kill
a deer or bear or anything else that aggravated them. This old Marlin 32/20
has a 26" tapered octagon barrel. You can load in on Sunday and shoot it
all week.

My great uncle Louie had the Winchester in the older calibers. On the farm they would go to Canada to cut Christmas trees and would take time to hunt too.

That's one of those unsung old calibers that does its job well. Reminds me of the comment about some other caliber being ineffective - can I shoot it at you to see if it is or not?
Nobody ever volunteers for this test......

Interesting juxtaposition of past and future tense.
I have several 32-20s and like them. Here's a couple of my Colt's:

I'm a big fan of 32 WCF. I have a 1902 Hand Ejector (made 1902), a Colt Police Positive Special (made 1919), and a Marlin 1894 (Made 1980's). i keep the pistol ammo low power, loaded with Trail Boss and cast 117's. The rifle will handle the "High Speed" loadings, so everything "High Speed" is loaded with jacketed bullets. My wife's grandfather was a Nevada cowboy in the 1920"s, and used a Marlin in 25-20 (25 WCF) to stay fed. He did a little bounty hunting to pay the bills. He used 45 Colt Pistols, and a 1886 45-70 for people problems. He prefered the flatter trajectory of the 25 WCF to 32 WCF for hunting small game. (That Marlin is still in the family, the 1886 was sold when he came to Ohio, the Matched pair of SAA 7 1/2" Colts were stole from a display at the beginning of WW II, his self made gun belt, holsters and chaps are still in the family also.)
