Default Another Poor Mans Python

I also did some horse trading. It is a Colt Lawman Mark III.

With box and papers. Near mint condition. Still had packing grease on it. Appears to not have been fired by owner. I have changed that. I put one hundred rounds through it so far. The trigger is so much heavier than any S&W I own. Single action is great.

Nice example of Colt's bread & butter gun. I've got both and think the Python is over priced just like many others.

Poor mans Python no way it's the law inforcement model. The trooper series were great guns.

My first Python cost me $500. The sleeze bag LGS told me it was new till after all the paperwork was done I was told it was used.
This is a well known gun shop in Stratford,ct. Haven't been there in 40 years.

That is a very nice Colt.

I've been known to refer to the Colt Official Police as a poor man's Python.

Yours is a not-so-poor man's Python.

Oh, yeah. My first Gold Cup National Match. The tag said "new". The receipt said LNIB. Fancy footwork. No huge deal in that case, I suppose, but I noticed and maybe started learning.

That is a perfectly good 357 Magnum. Had a number of them over the years in 2 and 4 inch. The action is quite a bit different from the Python. The Mark III was Colt's attempt to keep the price down on their revolvers. Much less hand fitting.

The MKIII series of guns are in no way a Python. The lockwork is made up of MIM parts and has very little if any hand fitting.

I know "The MKIII series of guns are in now way a Python".

I started the thread saying it was a "Poor Mans Python"
