ARRRRRGH--NEED A NEW POCKET KNIFE

I've been carrying a Queen Steel #11 since in the navy in '64. One blade and does all I need a pocket knife to do.

If you like Benchmade, I'm very happy with my Model 710, but it has a four-inch blade that may be longer than you want. They have a smaller version in the M-705. I'd look hard at that if you like a classical look.

I wear a lockblade folder in a belt pouch and a Swiss Army knife in my pocket.

I feel your pain. My Spyderco Delica disappeared one day, probably due to my own carelessness. I've been carrying an Endura ever since, and it's a little large, but it works fine. Then on a trip to VT we wandered into the facility where they sell surplus property, like old computers, filing cabinets, etc. And they also sell all the sharp stuff that gets confiscated at the airport. The only real knife among the nail files and junk was a Delica, missing its clip, but with a pristine AUS 8 blade. The price was right.
You might try fleabay for a replacement. Some of those folks buy the TSA knives by the bushel and resell them.

I have had several items "stolen" only to have them turn up later. I had misplaced them myself.

I'm gonna go look for my X-ray again...I know I had it in April before I left for Cuba and I kind of think I stashed it somewhere away from the kids.....but I looked everywhere...except where it is of course...:)

Oh, good point about those confiscated knives. A guy had several buckets of those at a gun show. I rummaged carefully and got some nice Swiss Army knives, mainly Vics, but a few Wengers. Prices ranged from $3-7, depending on size and complexity. Some looked to have been new when confiscated. I did buy a new SOS kit to fit the SwissChamp that I bought so cheaply and shined up with Simichrome polish. I've used every tool on it, I think. I still have a couple that I need to finish polishing some scratches off of. But the work is going well, when I have time for it.

Of course, the thicker Swiss knives are for briefcase or pack carry; not for one's pocket.

Recently, found a folder that I'd carried daily for ten years, but had been missing for last three or so years. While looking hard for another missing item, I found this missing knife under the treadmill that we use for clothes hanging.:roll eyes:

I am assuming I misplaced it---I can get mad at me.
The contractor was paid when they left. I can't get mad at him as he wasn't here.
Heck fire--It is a Thing---lots of better things to get mad about.
Still burns my butt so I need to get a new one and get over it---probably will find the old one soon after I get the new one---then I will be hot.
Seems like the older you get the more you like to be aggrivated.
Blessings

Just picked up a CKRT Desert Hammond Cruiser.

I used to carry a CKRT Drifter, but wanted something a little larger that fit my hands better.

The Hammond is great for an inexpensive EDC option.

Honestly, I can't get too excited about knives. To me they are like shovels and hammers, just tools. I have 5 or 6 pocket knives laying around the place and $30 is all I will ever pay for one. The one I carry now was on sale at Cabelas for $15. It says Smith and Wesson on it but I think it was made in China or maybe Turkistan. If I paid $150 for a knife it would disappear in 3 days.

Ontario Rat 2

rat1-rat2-_1280.jpg

Above is the Rat 1 and below is the Rat 2. The Rat 1 has a 3.625" blade, and the Rat 2 has a 3" blade. The Rat 1 comes in serrated and non-serrated blades. The Rat 2 only comes in non-serrated. Both can be had for under $30 each. Don't let the price fool you, they are very great quality knives.

Sorry to hear that William.

Hard to beat the Mini-Grip. Cabelas routinely has them on sale. Theirs has a D2 blade. I've edc mine for about 2 years and for my needs it has been perfect!

I agree ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Benchmade is hard to beat

I agree that a knife is justa tool.
I like good tools though.
Did I mention Dromgoole's---had not thought about that store in years.
Well anywho--Dromgoole's is a dealer of BM knives--I called them an they had the same kind of knife I had lost.
Drove over to The Village and they had a great selection.
It is hard for me not to want another knife the size of the one that got away---3 inch blade, handle fills the hand, easy to control and does fine work easily.
I got the drop point this time around.
9051 AFO, auto.
Now--I will find the other !!!!
Blessings

I'd suggest taking a look at the Buck Vantage line and just about anything from Kershaw or Spyderco for great value. If you want to take a step up then Benchmade, or ZT would be good choices.

"May the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits." Now this is a remark worthy of Carnac the Magnificent - AKA Johnny Carson. If you don't know what it is please Google it. You'll be glad you did.
