My newest 45 . . . John Wayne SAA
I just came across this cute Colt Single Action Army revolver.
In 1982 Colt manufactured and issued a standard edition John Wayne Commemorative Single Action Army revolver in .45 Long Colt caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel, finished in blue and wearing Elephant Ivory 2 piece grips.
These revolvers are lightly engraved with some moderate gold work.
Only 3100 of these revolvers were manufactured by Colt with a serial number range of CJWC0001 to CJWC3100.
I am a fan of the Duke, like Single Action Army revolvers and adore the 45 Long Colt. So I had to buy it.

Nice gun, and great pictures!
I remember seeing those advertised - I couldn't afford one then and I probably still can't!

Thanks
I really did get lucky on this one. You probably can not buy a current SAA and have Ivory grips fitted to it for what I paid
In my youth (and even recently) I have bought many things that I could not afford by using a simple financial trick, Lay-A-Way
In fact almost all of my high end firearms have been bought that way since I never seem to have lots of cash on hand when a cool piece comes up.

For a fella named Shorty 45 MK2 that has to be too big
You might prefer something like this one
