Anybody have any comments about the HK P2000 9mm? I'm looking at these two (2) variants...

V1 model: The LEM trigger is a dual-stage trigger that fires from a hammer down position in both SA and DA modes, but has an internal mechanism that is cocked with each cycle of the action. It provides a constant trigger pull of 20 N (4.5 lb)

V3 model:SA/DA trigger with a decocking lever mounted at the posterior of the slide to the left of the spurred hammer. Single-action trigger pull of 20 N (4.5 lb)

Thank you!

I've shot a P2000SK with the LEM trigger. The gun shot very well, but the trigger felt weird to me as it had the real light pull then a hard resistance right before it broke. Granted I shoot mostly DA/SA pistol and DAO revolvers so I'm used to a long and heavier pull. If you are used to striker fired pistols it shouldn't be much of a problem.

Once you understand how to shoot the LEM, it is one of my favorite triggers for crisis management. My P2000 LEM and P2000SK LEM are two of my favorite concealed carry pistols.

Exactly my opinion. Even though new HK's are considerably pricier than comparable striker-fired competitors, I much prefer the LEM to other systems if you want something lighter than straight DAO. And in terms of quality and reliability, HK is hard to beat. I also really like the ergonomics of the grip, but of course that's a matter of your hand size and shape.
As for the V3 version, I had a sk model in 9mm; I wasn't a big fan of the rear-mounted decocker. It does take it off the side and slims the gun a bit, but isn't any less awkward to operate and is counter-intuitive.

I own the P2000sk in V3 (DA/SA) and love the single action trigger pull.

I grew up on Sig pistols being my first love, so am really in tune with the transition from DA first shot to SA for subsequent shots.

Sounds like more people prefer the LEM version, and I'll have to trust their opinion, as I have never fired one!

H&K just lowered their prices on the P series pistols.....so shop around for a great deal!

My work gun (no choice) is a .40 V2 LEM. Frankly, I'd take about any other pistol. I shoot it better than most, but the trigger seemingly was designed by a lawyer to give users plenty of chances to change their mind about taking the shot. After several years and several thousand rounds, I'm not a fan. In actual use it's been no more reliable than any other semi auto I have, either.

The duty size P2000 has a 3.7" barrel, and resulting short sight radius. Who makes a "service pistol" with a sub 4 inch barrel? A baby Glock (G26, G27) is considered a subcompact with its 3.6" barrel. Ridiculous.

I've seen, secondhand, a P2000 that was broken in half below the triggerguard when the user tipped an ATV over onto his gun side and landed on the pistol. That's confidence inspiring, although it could happen to any other plastic pistol.

I'm a lefty, and the ambi slide release is in my way, and leads to the slide failing to lock back when empty. Since I shoot numerous other handguns, I'm not modifying my grip just to work around one mutant gun. Same with the magazine release, that people claim you either love or hate, I'm solidly in the hate camp.

It's a shame the acquisitions side of my agency seems to have a real lust for HK products, as I haven't seen anything from my P2000 to justify its price compared to more common offerings.

Based on Internet reports about H-K customer support, I wouldn't buy their guns.

But the basic USP is used by the German Army and I've seen pics of Australian Army SAS with them, so presume they usually work well, and H-K does seem to support OFFICIAL buyers.
