New-to-me Ruger GP100; however,...
This is the 3", .38 spl Ruger GP100 that I received Friday from the transaction I made with a seller on Ruger's forum. Unfortunately, I am in the embryonic stages of making arrangements to have it sent to Ruger.
As I mentioned on the Ruger SP101 CS thread, I discovered at the range yesterday morning that cartridges like to get stuck in one of the cylinder chambers and have to be persuaded out with a punch and tack hammer. Ejection of spent cases is fine when I leave that cylinder empty and only shoot 5 rounds. The range safety officer said it appears that the "bad" cylinder chamber (at 10:00 in the picture) is slightly misshapen on the outside edge on one side; the stuck casing had a good-sized oval shaped rub mark on the outside of it after I got it out.
I knew this transaction was going WAY too smoothly!! On the bright side, it's a great shooting gun, I love it and I'm confident Ruger will make things right. Just would have been nice if this little tidbit of information was disclosed to me.

Nice revolver but disingenuous seller. Good luck getting it sorted.

Hopefully Ruger will (and they should.) fix it for free.
Please keep us up to date.

possibly the seller just flipped it without shooting it. Ruger will make it right, the GP is a fine revolver.

Well, I sent in my GP100 two Wednesdays ago and got it back from Ruger first thing this morning. Brand new cylinder and crane, test fired/functioned and, although it didn't say it on the service order, I swear they cleaned up the action a little because it seems smoother than I remember it being before I sent it in. It doesn't seems to stack nearly as much when pulling the trigger in double action.
Maybe my mind is clouded by the joy of getting my gun back. It'll probably be a couple weeks before I take it to the range but needless to say I'm excited.

They are a little sparse on what gets on the form, but they have always done a bit extra. The revolver shop does good work.
When my generic, cheapest model Single Six when back with a cylinder that probably just needed reaming, it came back with a new one, new trigger group, and wood grips to replace the plastic (which they also sent back).
Only good things to say about them here. I've had Ruger revolvers since 1983.

They probably noticed the stacking and tweaked it as necessary. My GP100's mainspring strut had numerous burrs on it. After replacing that one part it was like a whole new gun. If they would spend a couple of minutes going over new guns and making sure they function properly it would avoid these types of problems.
