Just received this blade, and have to say I am extremely impressed. The finish is tough and looks fantastic, especially with the lettering and the contrast of the sharpened steel along the blade. The knife is made out of .2" thick 1095 steel, so I expect to have to sharpen/clean it after heavy use(s), but the knife feels incredibly solid and was razor sharp out of the box.
I wrapped mine in 550 Fire Cord, but would love to purchase some grips if anyone knows where to find them. I might end up making some, they seem to be quite hard to find.
I dont really have a test of any sort to share as I am new to blades for the most part, so if you have any sort of test you'd like to see this knife out through (within reason) please let me know, I would be happy to give it a shot.
I carry and use a Buck Vantage every day, and can tell that the DPX is in a far higher class overall. I might just have to buy one of their folding models, or figure out a way to carry this one without it getting in my way all day long.
Of course, a couple of pictures. I know they are basically the same, but I didn't have time to take it outside to natural light or use it much.
Please post test ideas, and let me know what you think! Am I the only one with one of these knives?
