I've got the .40 version of this. It's been 100% reliable, accurate, and it carries well. The .40 version has a steel frame so it's a bit heavier but the weight does help soak up the recoil of the .40.
It's my winter carry gun and I've shot a couple of matches with it.
Great little firearm.

Like a modern adaptation of the Star BM.

I have had my emp9 for just over 3 years now. It is very reliable & super accurate. The only flaw with mine was that the ejectors come glued from SA & can raise up like mine did. SA pinned it for free. I have heard that they come pinned now. Mine is 25k serial # way before yours but I suggest if the ejector is not pinned send it back. They really are great little guns & SA is easy to deal with if there is a problem.

I have to say that I find the EMP to be one of the nicest looking guns around. It has been on my fantasy list for years. I recently saw one for trade in my area and it has stirred up my longing for one again. Really wish I could figure out a way to get one. One day.

I shot one of the EMP 9 mm's a few months ago. it was cold so I only put a couple of magazines through it with no problems. when you are shivering it is kind of hard to give the gun a chance. the best part is you kind a small gun with a "1911" trigger pull and not some double action plastic gun trigger pull. I think the EMP in 40 S & W would be a real hand full

I had one,sweetest shooting gun I ever owned,my buddy shot it and talked me out of it,I found another one and gonna keep this one.They are one of the best looking guns out there in my opinion.

That, sir, is a pretty gun. Shoot it with pride, and watch all the folks around you try to conceal their envy as the hoist their "dishwasher-safe" pistols.

Just make sure that you never call it an "EMP" if you talk to someone on the phone at Springfield.

If you don't say "Enhanced Micro Pistol", or "E... M... P..." (spelled out), the person on the phone will make you fell really stupid.

I was one of the early adapters and so did have to send it back for a tweak about the thumb safety to make it snick better with more resistance like it should have.
Still have it and won't part with it, and as a plus, I've found that holsters made for the E-M-P also work with the Colt Defender although just a "little" bit snugger with the Defender.

i have one of each 9 mm & 40 cal would NOT trade or sell either.
The 40 is heaver and helps with recoil still fun to shoot . Both carry well .

Funny enough, I just recently held one at a gun show and really took a liking to it. Might have to get one in 40 as a late birthday present to myself.

Those sure look neat and think it's one of the best looking single stack 9's out there today.

On pure looks alone, I would have to concur.

It's got a character to it that none of the other single stack nines have. I really like my Defender 9mm, but the EMP is a real head turner. I'm going to kick my own *** hard if I ever put that very first scratch on it.
I'm not afraid to carry it and shoot it, but I do tend to treat it more carefully than the others.

Have you shot it yet? I'm on pins and needles.

I will testify to 250 flawless rounds down range so far; and because we have to clear brass from the shooting lanes, I noticed it deposits empties in about a 24 inch circle.

Great little gun. The mags have that rubber bumper thingy "hanging out there", which kinda takes away from "concealed", but I suppose it aids in shooting, and there is a guy in Calif. who does a great job on welding up a solid bottom on the mag, that then is flush with the grip frame.

At first glance I thought you could just slide the bumper off, but no.

Nice shooting with it. I've rented them a few times, but can't afford one.
The EMP is the pistol I'd like to get if/when I have about One Grand of disposable income (or someone want to give me a real nice X-Mas/Birthday gift).

Fine looking gun there, and you seem to shoot it pretty darn good too! The range master where I shoot has one I have been trying to beat him out of for some time, so far no luck!!

KLYDE, I am not certain if you pulled out all the paperwork or not, but the S A pistols WERE shipping with a pretty decent discount offer in the case a while back ?

It would, (likely) be an orange colored sheet with most all their mags and other non-gun stuff listed at some great discounts.

Three mags for your E M P might well be all you want, but that is only one of the items they offer on that list.
Not on the list unfortunately, is that set of "cross cannon" cocobolo grips you originally wanted, and they are NOT listed on the S A web site either, but you can order them by phone.

As you may know however, the very naturally oily cocobolo wood can cause allergic reactions to the skin and eyes in some people, but that is only when working the raw, unfinished wood, as I understand it.

I don't have much in the way of guns and such from Springfield Armory, but man oh man they are great to deal with on the phone.

The cost of the gun to begin with; does not "beg" me to spend more for "enhancements" to it, but thought you may have missed the coupon.

Glad you like the little pistol, you show some very respectful marksmanship with it. (Better than me for sure ! )

Congratulations on your new emp9 & your successful 1st range outing. I have been enjoying mine for 3 years now & its just a great gun all over. The only problem I ever had was after the 1st range trip the slide was hard to get off because the ejector had raised slightly causing the resistance. SA drilled & pinned it & I had it back in 10 days. I have read that the new ones come pinned & not just glued like before is yours pinned? I have learned how to field strip mine without using the plastic guide rod clip that is supplied.
