It looks like a copy of a Puma White Hunter. The lack of a brand hints at a maker who does not make a lot of knives but who knows?

Sure resembles a White Hunter. I know the originals made with carbon steel back in 50s or 60s are bringing respectable bucks from collectors and knife fans.

Here are a few differences that I could spot with a quick look at Puma White Hunters that are for sale. Pumas have more belly between the straight part of the bottom edge and the point. Part of a Puma’s bottom edge is serrated. The Puma’s hand guard curves to the rear and the butt end of their handle has a more pronounced birds head shape. However the difference that gives the best clue to its producer is that unlike production knives the joint between the hand guard and blade appears to be soldered. In stores I only recall seeing that on Randals and other expensive “custom” knives. I’m still guessing a small maker.
Expanding the topic a bit, considering that most guys can only legally do it once a year and most any knife does the job in short order there sure are a lot of very different styles and sizes of knives all marketed to field dress and skin your deer. The White Hunter is an unusual type that I’ve never seen in the field. Their cost was a big deterrent but even for those of us who bought an unnecessarily expensive hunting knife the shape was too non-traditional.

Looks like a cheap knock off to me. Metal looks shiny like 440? Rivets are not done very well, nor are they finished. Just my opinion. I made a custom knife recently and it's a lot of work to do things right. But it's the only way to do it.

No sheath...It was sent back to
the seller.
Honest mistake. Resembles a Puma White Hunter.

Good eye. I did not notice the rivets were proud. However most Case knives are polished bright and they are not cheap on my knife budget. Partly to make the polishing easier Case does use a steel the is not as hard as Buck's. IMO some of the 440 stainless steels are very good knife steels but "440" is fraudulently stamped on tons of very inexpensive knives. Anyhow, this no name knock off does not deserve the price of a real Puma White Hunter.
