Colt New Service 45 ACP
Colt New Service 45 ACP 5 1/2 inch barrel with butt swivel. The frame has military acceptance mark but no other military markings. Serial 180639 puts in in the range of WW 1 guns.
Most likely assembled after WW 1 on a left over frame. The gun has not been refinished.

Lovely. That's amazing finish for the age. Isn't it closing in on 100?

The only thing that would make it better: Telling us that you found it at a tag sale and bought if from an old war widow for 40 bucks!

Very nice and it doesn't look like the military finish.

That is a beautiful specimen, Roy. All my older Colt DA revolvers' bluing is rather thin compared to older Smiths.
Very nice.
