Rossi 581
We saw this last week at Ali-Babb's. A Rossi 851, stainless steel, 38 Special, six shots, with a vent rib, full underlug, adjustable red insert/white outline sights, with target grips. Size seems to be a little smaller than a K-frame, maybe about the size of a Colt Police Positive Special. Probably from the late 80's, early 90's since it carries the "Interarms Alexander, Va." logo on the side.
Mechanically it's in great shape. The lockup is tight, the trigger is decent. It seems to be very well made.
My wife liked it because the grips are smaller than the standard S&W grips, but bigger than Magna's, and fill in the spot back of the trigger guard.
It was inexpensive, so we'll give it a try.

That's nice. Kind of a cross between a S&W & a Colt. I hope it shoots nice for you.

What's not to like. Looks great. If it shoots as good as it looks you have a winner.

I have one of the well-used Century imported 841 .38 revolvers. Same thing as the pictured 581 excepting the adjustable sights/stainless/vent rib. The rough 841 being carbon steel/fixed sights/solid rib/lanyard ring.
I was suitably impressed with the 841 Rossi and had thought the same thing...reminds me of a Colt D frame size gun.

It looks to me like the frame on this one is built the same as the frame of my M971 (6-shot 357). The cylinder/crane/trigger guard portions are K-frame size, but the grip frame is almost exactly the size of a square-butt J-frame.
It actually makes for a very nice package.

You might be right BC. A HKS No 10 Speed-loader for a K-frame Smith & Wesson works just fine with it. It just feels smaller to me.
