leaning over a display counter at Dicks Sporting the other day, looking at their ammo...This caught my eye and it went home with me..
Love the sheath, very durable..I blacked out the white stitching and will probably black out the lettering..
Made in China, but seems to be pretty sturdy, full metal tang and sharp..
23 bucks out the door..
Opinions ?

I really like the kukri profile for a woods chopper. You get a blade that will take a good bite, without excess length.

I use a Cold Steel Carbon V Kukri in that role, and it has served well.
 
I have been using a Condor 13" Golok for brush and small trees, but have been considering a parang or a kukri or some kind of brush hook. The Sog looks interesting, but I will wait for your review, and will check out the CW before jumping in.

So get out there in the back acreage, put 'er to work and let us know how she does.:D

From the Youtube torture tests and other videos, the edge holds up very well..The edge is hollow ground and yes it might be a bit tricky to sharpen..But at 23 bucks, just get a new one.. :)
 
10 or 11 years ago my son came home from the USMC, and started camping in the rough. He want to pick up a real Kukri, but none of us had the money at the time. AT the LGS they had a large knife section and featured Cold Steel as well SOG, Gerber and several other good companies, and some junk as well. I bought him a full sized Cold Steel Kurki style bush knife for Christmas. It has been used extensively, and held up very well. Holds a good edge and is easily resharpened. I don't see any reason why SOG's product would be any less stellar. The Cold Steel product was a bit more money, but is larger. If that is the size you want, I'd say "Go for it". Ivan
