The 1911 and CZ are mine. Ruger and Browning are hers.
I've got a 9mm lightweight CCO style 1911 on layaway and she'd like a Walther PPK which I plan on getting her next year. That would round us out.
The guns are all unique and from different eras but have some elements in common.

Great choices. Can't beat a colt 1911 and a hi power.

Nice collection!
I think you'll like the SA. I recently picked up a SA loaded target and its been great. Also, a 9mm 1911 is a great shooting platform. My next 1911 will be a 9mm.
I must say things are backwards for you than my house. First, my wife got a new Ruger LCR, then the 1911 came home. To me it's known as "the peace offering to maintain domestic tranquility".

I've heard and read nothing but great things on the R.O.'s in general. The fit and finish isn't the best I've seen but they're built right where it counts and have a reputation for being excellent, reliable shooters.
I've got a set of SGM G10 starburst checkered grips coming and I'll be thinning down that huge manual safety. The IL will have to go as well. I'm pretty excited about it.
What actually turned me on to it was looking at a lightweight Colt Commander in 9mm. I prefer the compact frame and barrel arrangement on the Springfield even though the Colt was quite classy looking and a bit rare. I had been trying to decide on a compact 9mm for years and that looks to be the ticket.
The wife had pestered me over the silly P89 for years (it was the first gun she had fired). When I learned of the CZ 40-P we made a deal...I get a new gun and she gets the Ruger. Her BHP is a .40 and I'm quite fond of it. It's the smoothest shooting .40S&W I've come across. I've tried to offer a new 9mm version in exchange for her .40 but she won't have it.
This is a bit dated, but makes some interesting observations on 1911's in 9mm from a Hi Power guy:
What About the 1911 in 9mm?
Bill Wilson is a fan of 4" 1911's so that can't be a bad thing:
