Picked up a Sears bolt action .22 Mod. No. 2C...(variant of the Winchester 131 .. Bought it to train my niece on...... Sounds stupid, but can't get the bolt out, Everyone i've ever had you pull the trigger and slide the bolt out, this one stops dead,, Is there something i missed ?
There are no manuals available that I can find on the internet including Sears site

It worked

You have to remove the action and barrel from the stock: remove the magazine, then undo the single, large screw from the underside of the stock. Once you've done this, you'll find a little sort of lever dingus next to the magazine release mechanism. Press that, and you'll be able to remove the bolt. (If you look at the open chamber from above, you'll see a tiny catch, which moves when you press the wee lever.
(The little lever can be moved from the top also with a small screw driver)
All cleaned up, good beginner rifle... Wasn't bad, 200 rounds, carrying case, cleaning kit. $60.00
