Picked up a pocket/backup pistol today
Stopped at a big sporting store today while coming back home from a business trip, and they had this on sale for $265.00 brand new!!
Definitely close up and limited purpose pistol, but I couldn't pass it up. Will try and get out to shoot it tomorrow.

I am interested in your range report, Bob. Please let us know how it handles and shoots. These guns intrigue me.

Will do. I'll probably shoot a vid for those who like that sort of thing.

Congrats! That's an interesting modern take on a derringer.

Bob, be very careful on that one. There are some YouTube videos showing that gun in .45 being fired. On one, both barrels fired simultaneously, scaring the dickens out of the shooter and injuring his hand slightly. I recommend a shooting glove as the frame is very thin.
Good luck with that one, partner. Be safe.

Everybody should own a pocket/backup gun. As Kaaskop49 said, be very careful with that one!

Same experience as what a few have said... Know some guys that bought these things and nobody is happy... If you intend to carry as backup or off duty, I would be surprised if you could shoot a qualification with it.

A co-worker owned one of those, it was unreliable
A name brand semi-auto pistol can be had in the same size, weight, and price range. Such a gun would offer better sights, trigger pull, more than two shots, faster reloads, more holster options.

You payed a nice low price for it and that's good and is better than most derringers being a da trigger . I know the company than machined the parts for it and they have been making products for the military from decades and have branched into the medical field but so time will tell . Hope it works out well for you . I'll stay with my cm9 but even a 7 shot 380 would do well

How is the trigger? I only know two people that bought one, and both commented the trigger was very heavy.

I'll let you guys know tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to shoot it in the morning.
I bought a box of 50 today and will go through at least 30 rounds.
Yes, the trigger is very heavy and long, but I have no problems with the squeeze while dry firing it. It's one of the main reasons I chose it. With a trigger like this, there is very little chance of the pistol firing unintentionally.

Good luck with that one, and may God bless.
If you don't like it, I'll understand. (Like you, I don't always buy the "horror stories"). To each their own... said the lady when she kissed the cow.

The recoil wasn't bad at all. Also, the trigger is long and heavy, but not bad.

Bought one recently. My wife loves it. A little too small for me (I carry a Glock 27 double stack, which is too big for her). To each his/her own.

Considering the size, I'll keep my Kahr CM9, seven rounds of 9mm with fast reloading potential.

Everybody needs at least one "conversation piece" pistol.
For small CCW, you will be better served with the Bodyguard .380.
Mine fits in the watch pocket of my jeans, and has been 100% reliable in my testing.

Conversation piece? This pistol will serve a very specific and critical purpose.
I carried a five shot revolver as a backup for 25 years. Many officers refuse to carry a backup because most that are selected for them aren't small enough and/or can't be drawn from the pocket easily.
With this pistol, there are no excuses.
I wonder how long it will be for the first report of a Trooper shooting him/herself in the leg while trying to get the G26 out of their pocket.

You had to know you were going to catch some stuff with that picture and post. With the most serious of intent, I'll say I hope you never need to use it. Good luck.

May God bless and preserve you, Brother. Shoot safely, and I hope you never have to use it for it's intended purpose.

The felt recoil was a bit harsh due to the narrow metal grip and odd contour of it....but it didn't hurt at all. The .45 version might be a different story though.

It reminds me of the bottom-break, double action .38 Special Derringers of the late 1960's - early 1970's. These shot quite well, but fell out of favor. (Don't ask me why, because I never really did understand the reason they left the market).
The hideous, four-barreled COP Derringer was so badly conceived (and executed) that one gunwriter bought one just to show people that the ergonomically worthless thing had actually been manufactured! (It had a double-stack arrangement with a rotating firing pin). A 12 pound trigger pull made it difficult to shoot and keeping it aimed in the proper direction was nearly impossible!
Incidentally, it was chambered for the .357 S&W Magnum cartridge. Talk about your misbegotten contraptions, this was worse than the old black powder "duck foot".
