Smile AK-47 Question

I have observed that at AK-47 muzzles' the lower portion of the barrel is longer than the top. What is the reason?

What you have noticed is the AK-47's crude version of a muzzle brake. In AK circles it is known as a slant brake due to the shape you have described. The slant brakes are reverse threaded and can be replaced by a variety of more effective after market muzzle brakes, compensators, and flash hiders/suppressors.

The slant brake keeps the muzzle down as it tries to rise.

Slant brake. It's on an angle to reduce muzzle climb. Works pretty well for when it was made.

As with the Kalshanikov, simple, easy to make.
