On that site how would one tell if its one of the company's that made them for Underwood ? If I sprung for one I would want one from one of the original suppliers . , All the metal on the rifle is in excellent condition
Huge numbers of .30 Carbines were completely rebuilt and upgraded with new click-adjustable rear sights and bayonet lugs after WWII and then placed in storage. I have understood that most, if not all, of those which were rebuilt received postwar-manufactured stocks from a single manufacturer, don't remember who that manufacturer was. I imagine most of the original stocks were used for firewood.
