Was it such a miserable flop that nobody even mentions it any more?

Doing a Google search, it looks like nobody's done any articles on it since last March (2015) and none of the forums have mentioned it (even in passing) since the Taurus View thread.

Has anyone here ever had a chance to try one?
I've never even seen one at my LGS.

I saw one at the local shop. Last time I was there, I think it was still sitting in the case (what are the odds they ordered two?). It's amazingly small, but seems like little more than a gimmick to me. If they still have it next time I'm there, I'll hold it.

My local shop has one.... pretty much novelty piece. I felt it, pulled the trigger, laughed, and handed it back.

Never saw it, don't care if it's ugly but it is a pocket gun and a Taurus both of which I have no interest in

I looked at one at a big sporting goods chain store a week or so ago. Even the sales clerk admitted he didn't like it!

In order to chamber a round,you have to grasp the slide toward the muzzle end of the gun. Anyone else think that is a baaaad idea??

They have them at Buds site $324 with light and laser and $290 without.

I'm no gun collector but this is one of those pistols I'm liable to say "screw it" and try one for the hell of it.

Though I've wondered since I first saw it how the curve would feel in hand? seems like it'd be a little funky.

You all are looking at it the wrong way. You should pick one up as an investment piece. Think of all those other wayward guns over the years..... Gyrojet, Webly-Fosbury, The LeMat, palm pistols, Daisy caseless.....

In 91 at Christmas time, I bought a Desert Eagle in 50AE and 500 rounds of ammo. Thinking it would be such a failure and in a few years I would clean up because I had plenty of ammo. I sold it in 2014 (100% plus box and papers) for what I paid for it & they refused to consider ammo purchase. I sold 400 rounds this fall at $1.25 per round to a guy for deer hunting, That was the only money I made, about 65 cents a round. That in no way begins to cover the use and/or interest on $1600 tied up for 24 years! I gambled and lost.

Hey, Big Stick I still have a LeMat in the box if you are interested! (seriously!) I would love to have either model of palm pistol or a Webly-Fosbury or the other novelty, the Volcanic rifle or pistol by O. Henry. Or those weird breach loaders by C. Sharpe, Burnside, Spencer and Kennedy! You never tell which ones will catch on!

LGS had one on the counter today and I couldn't resist picking it up. It's very block like - felt more like I was holding a piece of two by four than a weapon. Might be good for some but not my cup of tea. If I feel the need to carry a .380 I'll stick with my little P3AT.

I wonder if it will be more successful than the "ZIP"

I think the thing with the DE 50AE at the time it was released is that it was featured in several movies, where it was a status symbol and was typically fired with the magazine 90* perpendicular to the ground....... Thus fueling the sales to certain demographics that the Israelis and Magnum Research never thought of, but who's business they never refused.... Don't forget the Gold plated model....

Taurus has that dubious talent of trying to re-invent the wheel and instead creating an enigma The CURVE ? And how about the VIEW revolver I always thought their Model 85 snub was a really nice revolver for the money. Now they've managed to screw that up also by switching from what was a really nice blued finish to black paint

Just don't keep up with Taurus like some of you guys do.
Finally, looked it up. I see it's actually curved.
It does look right handed.
Maybe us lefties could use the Wild Bill reverse draw?

Don't forget the Dardick gun (anyone else remember it?). Actually, a very sound design from an engineering perspective, but the gun's odd appearance and the strange form of the ammunition didn't attract many customers. I saw a couple of the Curves at the last local gun show. I have no feelings about them one way or the other, and if I found one dirt-cheap, I might even buy it.

I'm with DWalt on buying one if it shows up cheap. Remember, nothing is so worthless that it cannot serve as a bad example.

I purchased a Vektor CP1 and still have it in original, "deadly to the owner," condition. I could have sold it several times for more than I paid for it, and now for a WHOLE lot more than I paid for it, thanks, probably, to Hollywood.
Another "beauty" I have is a Braverman Pen Gun, .22 Mag. It's like lighting off a cherry bomb or M80 in your hand. Goofy to cock it, too. Value? Currently bid on one on Gunbroker is $1,000! For me it's just a novelty to amaze the masses with.
Another I can only politely describe as a Safe Queen is my AMT .45 Backup. Good luck getting three shots in a row, and when you try to clean, well, get some OTHER fool to clean it. I see them on Gunbroker for $425, magazines for $40 apiece! Both nice premiums over what I paid. Maybe I should post . . ..
Short response: didn't have to wait anything like 50 years for the value to go up on these clunkers.

Oops! Forgot the Taurus 941. Bought as a gift for our then-14-year-old son. First time at the range it pitched the rear sight. Rounds flew wild and it keyholed a lot. After 18 rounds the cylinder could not be turned with the trigger or hammer. After six more it could not be turned at all. Back to Taurus FOUR TIMES, still a morsel of excrement. I can't bring myself to sell, er inflict it on anyone. It has DROPPED in value since I bought it, so maybe I will have to wait 50 years.

Big Stick could be right. If it flops it may be worth good bucks way down the road!!! Don't think I"ll live long enough to see it though.
