Legislation will likely impact value more than the idea of a vintage Glock. Vintage Glock? Boy that has a sour ring to it, dont it?

My 33, 17 and 15rd Glock mags may one day be worth more than my Colt 1911.

Who would have thought an M16 would sell for $20k? Or just a registered sear sell for $thousands.

I know Gen 2 Glocks pop up from time to time and get snatched up pretty quick so there must be a market.

However I don't buy handguns/weapons as investments. I have some nice ones that may appreciate $50.00 by the time I'm dead and gone so I got that going for me... And since my son really isn't into guns I'll probably sell them before I kick off and give the money to my young pretty nurse.

Until then, I buy, use and carry weapons that work until they don't work. Then they get repaired or replaced. I happen to find that the Gen 4 Glocks suit my needs best. A G 26 locked in my truck, a G 19 on my hip, and a G 21 for hunting in pig country.

Something that's way way over blown. Like destroying a model 19/66 with 125gr ammo. Both have happened but people tend to turn it into gospel. Carrying my Glock every day for 6 years and not one shot in the leg or anywhere else. However, I'm sure if I pulled the trigger I'd shoot myself. I'm a so sure that if I pulled the trigger on a revolver I'd shoot myself too.

Look up a video on YouTube where a guy does the Glock leg but with a 1911! That's 3 safeties he overcame to do that.

Generation 1 Glock on Gunbroker yesterday for $1700.

For serious Glock enthusiasts, yes they are desirable, and yes they will pay it.

Keep in mind, to some people these classic S&W revolvers that some of you think of as "high quality remarkable craftsmanship works of art in steel and sold" are just antiquated relics.

I love old revolvers just like everyone else here. I laugh when Glock (or any other manufacturer) starts getting trashed. People that love other manufacturers think your devotion to classic S&Ws and so forth is just as ridiculous.

The condition is more properly identified as "holstering your any brand any style semi automatic safety off pistol with your finger still on the trigger leg."

To clarify what I meant. I'm not singing the Glock praise here. I'm also not saying it will rival the old 1911s, S&Ws or Colts.
What I am saying is that all of those were run of the mill tools in the beginning also. As far as what condition the Glock will be in 50/75 years from now isn't really important.
Lord forbid someone refinishes one of those steel icons no matter how rusted and beat up they are.
All I'm saying is due to their history and utility, in time, the originals have value.
That's all I'm asking about an original Glock.
I understand that HK apparently came out with the first plastic frame, but I never knew it. The Glock? The whole world knew it.
They won the marketing game and its history now.
Like them or not, I believe they will be relatively valuable given enough time.
Just my opinion.

Mine's thrown under the truck seat. Do you think that will effect it's collector value?

No - whether hermetically sealed in a glass vitrine or rolling around under your truck seat, they will be as valuable as our garden variety hammers.A Glock question, seriously

Still - a handy tool.

I LOVE Glock pistols. That said, I would never pay $1,700 for one. Just my two cents.
