Some countries traditions make them crazy about certain numbers.
In China the number is "8". People spend a fortune to get "8" on a license plate.
The US Mint takes advantage of this and produces gold coins and banknotes with "8" on them.
When the Olympics were in China, the US Mint produced a 2 coin set with the date 8-8-2008,
the start date of the Olympics. They sold out immediately and increased in value rapidly.
In the United Arab Emirates and other rich Gulf countries people pay up to a million dollars or
more in government auctions of "lucky" (wasta) license plates for their luxury and super cars.
