The Dan Wesson Specialist 1911. I've been eyeing several DW models for a few months, and researching them wherever I could. Sounded like a very well built 1911, and most that had them raved about them. I found one on the internet, a Specialist, and bought it finally. The Specialist is a railed version of the Valor, which is kind of a semi custom built pistol. After a night tactical shoot and qualification I decided it was time to upgrade with a light capable 1911 for work. Anyways, I took this out and shot a couple boxes of 45s through it, shortly after picking it up.

This is one of the finest production 1911s I've had in my hands. I have a Fusion 10mm that's close, but this DW is very well put together. Extremely smooth slide to frame fit with no side wiggle or up/down play. I know tight slide/frame fit could mean possible function issues, but that hasn't been the case. Nice frosted stainless finish, well thought out night sights, 25 LPI checkering, and aggressive VZ grips. In my shooting session many of the rounds were touching each other on the target. This is a very accurate pistol. The manual warned about shooting 500 rounds before 100% function was expected. I haven't had a failure in the first 100. I expect function won't be an issue. I could rave on about this 1911, but I'll just move on to some pics....

That is a real sweet 1911.

I have three 1911s, and I just got a sig 227 which is a 10 round 45acp carry gun.

So I am good on 45acp, yet, why am I putting a Dan Wesson on my list of my next gun to save up for?
