Today's Find
Did some work for a lady today and saw this pistol sticking up out
of box of junk in attic. It's one I don't know a lot about. French
Military SACM 1935A, 7.65 Long. Needs a good cleaning, shows
very little wear. Ammo for these is very scarce. Going to make up
A few out of 32 longs.

It's the anccestor of the SIG P 210; a Swiss by the name of Petter designed it for SACM, and then during WW II went on to design a series of experimental pistols that eventually resulted in the 210. It's reliable and tough; post war ones seem to have pretty strong trigger pulls. The only source of ammunition is re-worked 32 S&W long brass; be sure to use solid head brass as if you cut the extraction groove in a folded head case you get a two piece case.

Given the connection to the P210s, the value of the gun is to a P210 collector. What the OP found is a future safe queen. It has no value as a shooter because ammo isn't worth the effort. Sure, the owner will need to keep his man card and actually acquire a gun load and then shoot the gun once or twice. Then he can tell everyone he did that, and hold his head high when he field strips it to show the machining.
I'm envious of the OP. I'd like to have one too. But I'm far too cheap to buy one.

I always liked the feel and handling of those.
I've had a few of them.
I had always thought that one in cal 22LR would be a very nice handgun.
Never got around to adding that to the project list.

Yeah, that gun floats in you hand. Besides odd ball calibre, it
would be hard to mount adjustable sight, because of safety.

Bertram Reloading Brass 7.65mm French MAS (32 French Long) Box of 20 there is the brass, listed as in stock, though strangely with a picture of a shoe. Buffalo Arms lists the ammo on back order. I remember the Frensh surplusing a bunch of these some years back. The ammunition is supposedly a descendant of the WW1 Pedersen device ammo.

Old Western Scrounger loads it I believe (I know they used to) and I'm unsure if PPU offers a loading but they offer other older, military calibers.
