Taurus Recalls Nearly 1m Pistols (PT-111 Millennium; PT-132 Millennium; PT-138 Millennium; PT-140 Millennium; PT-145 Millennium; PT-745 Millennium; PT-609; PT-640; and PT-24/7) - The Truth About Guns

Thought more people were aware of this. But after some other discussion on another thread I guess I was wrong.

Old news. I have one of the pistols involved in this; a PT-609 with about 9000 rounds through it. I'm keeping it. It's been 100% reliable for me with no issues whatsoever. When it breaks - and everything does sooner or later - I will send it in for replacement. For now I'll keep shooting it. With the lawsuit claiming that it may not be drop safe, I no longer keep it loaded or use it for defensive purposes, but I will continue to shoot it at the range. It's reliable and fun to shoot. Hey, lots of older pistols from other manufacturers aren't drop safe, and folks are still shooting them.

Okay. You don't like Taurus products. And you don't like the Curve, either (as evidenced by your comments in that other thread).

We get it.

The End Times Great and Terrible Taurus Recall has been discussed on this forum, almost from the moment the recall was issued. You can look here and here. It was even talked about some in this thread back in December.

The bottom line is...your assumption that forum members were/are unaware of this is wrong. Most of us just haven't made as big a deal of it as you are, that's all.

Recalls happen. There isn't a gun manufacturer in the known universe, including Smith & Wesson, that's immune to quality control mistakes and recalls.
