..but not as most of you know it.:) It's a SAR K2 45, a hybrid design made in Turkey by Sarsilmaz. The lower frame is sort of an enlarged CZ-75 topped by a slide that runs CZ style on inverted rails but locks up like a Sig Sauer.

It takes a 14 round magazine and has an adjustable rear sight as supplied. Action is CZ-75 DA/SA with the option for cocked and locked, although the hammer must be lowered manually for DA. The grip is like a slightly enlarged CZ and it seems to work for me. The DA pull is very smooth and the SA pull is quite crisp. Construction is all steel (about 40 oz) and it soaks up 230 gr ball recoil very well, probably helped by a bore axis a bit lower than on a 1911. Could be the new house gun with a laser/light combo on the 1913 rail.:cool:

My girl and I shot about 40 rounds of 230 gr Blazer last Thursday. All were shot standing and nothing beyond 15 yards. Recoil is very tame and it is more accurate than me. No malfunctions of any kind.

I have the little brother SAR K2P in 9mm.
I actually thought about getting the K2 45 as my choice of 45acp last year. Couldn't find one under $525 around here - so I just kept looking for a cheaper 1911 style, until I found the ATI.

These pistols have a BUNCH of excellent reviews. Glad you like--very interesting firearm and design.
 
I actually traded into one of these, then found this old thread. This firearm is very well put together, and even the internals are finished out nicely. I was regretting the brain fart that allowed me to swap away my "Clinton era" Para Ordanance P-14 a couple of years back, when this one arrived in my radar.

The most surprising thing to me is it will use my leftover 14 round P-14 mags! It came with 2 and I already had 4 left over (plus one 10 rounder). The CZ style inverted rails do give it a low bore axis, which softens the already gentle 45 acp even more.

The adjustable rear site was already set just right for my first shots at 15 & 25 yards, and the smooth but crisp trigger makes it seem to shoot itself. I'll post some targets next time I have it out, the first ones have got rained on. I'm very pleased with the $400 trade value I swapped to get this pistol. The thin wood grips make it feel mush smaller than the somewhat blocky frame of the P-14. So far no range problems. I like this Turkey.

Well, I figured out how you came to that conclusion Valmet, I pigtailed onto a thread about the K2-45, where it was the OP's first 45. Just showing my K2 off, but it's not my first, that was almost 40 years ago. But thanks for the belated congratulations! It is however, my first Sarsilmaz.
 
Glad you're excited about your new toys. My first .45 was a revolver that was purchased for me by my father after I came home from a shooting session and experienced a desire to have a 9mm which was a caliber not found in our household at the time. I guess he didn't like the 9mm and wanted to steer me away from it. Coincidentally the first pistol I ever purchased myself was a .45 Sig.
