I haven't got out much....but I know the guy that works the gun counter at academy sports. Anyway, he had a (honestly don't remember the make/brand/cal) a pistol there that came in for them to sell. It was serial number 00001. Pretty cool. Probably shold have bought it. ha But I didn't.

Familiarization firing of BAR and M1919A1 machine gun in 30'06, USMC Camp Geiger, NC, Infantry Training Regiment, 1963. My BAR would fire only two or three rounds before jamming. Everyone else's BAR never missed a lick.

When the Russians heard an MG42 they would bring all guns to bear to neutralize it.
Brian:

I agree about the AKS-74U. Besides collecting Smiths and Colts, I used to be into the East Block stuff. I have two Class III firearms, one of which is a full size, full auto 7.62x39 AKS. It is much nicer to shoot than the snubby version in the 5.45 caliber.

The best behaved full auto that I owned, and foolishly sold, because it looked so primitive, was a Sten gun. 9mm, fired from an open bolt, was extremely basic and simplified, but was heavy for caliber, and had a slow cyclic rate of something like 450 RPM, and recoils was so soft that I once put the butt plate on my nose, while shooting full auto, to show my girlfriend that it would not hurt her to shoot it!!! No muzzle rise, and a great little gun, but alas, I sold it many years ago. I had a friend who was a Class III dealer, and he let me shoot lots of stuff that he would get in. Those were the days.

Best Regards, Les
