Springfield M1a Parts Karma Giveaway
So I have somehow ended up with a busted heel and I'm off work for a bit. First "sick" day in 22 years on the job. Had to happen sometime. With all my newfound and unexpected house time, I managed to fit in a bit of garage cleaning in the old gun parts boxes.
I found a few M1a parts that I don't have the rifle for anymore. Everything but the scope mount was removed from an early 2000s Springfield M1a Scout model. There's a op rod spring guide, the stripper clip feed piece, a bolt stop, a castle nut and one of those "save the driveby shooting can't be an assault weapon flash hider if we drill holes in it instead" compensators. (bought the rifle in California) There's also a low end scope mount that I have no idea where I got from. It doesn't have markings. B-Square maybe just based on how it's built. It makes a good paper weight if nothing else. I know, not the most in value, but the price is right.
So I have something else to do next Monday besides a follow-up doctor appointment, I'll close this karma midnight Alaska time Sunday July 17th. I'll stop by the post office while I'm out and about that day.
For a chance to win these amazing parts, reply to this thread with a picture of your M1a. It doesn't have to be the parts recipient gun, I'm just a visual person and I really like the M1a rifle, so I want to see what's out there - all models accepted...full size, scout, socom....any SBRs out there? I'll sit down with my daughter and we'll scroll through the photos and pick one.

OK, here is a starter...
It's a "Super Match" built by Glenn Nelson of the AMTU using a 1 in 10 Douglas air-gauged heavy barrel.

I don't pass up any occasion to post a M14 clone picture. These are the two that I have now. The walnut in the rear is a James River Rock Ola that I bought as a barreled action and built using all GI Springfield parts. The birch in front is SAI standard that has had quite a few factory parts changed out to GI.

I can always use a few spare parts. Please put me in.
Besides, I like to show off too.

hlwjr1947- The Scout Squad and the Socom have the factory standard forward optic mounts.
The old Fed-Ord M-14A at the top takes a little explaining. I originally had the LER scope on it using an Ultimak Forward Optics Rail which replaces the upper handguard. When I decided to go with a higher power scope, rather than spend $300 on a new mount, I found a short rail that fits in the receiver where the stripper clip guide goes. I honestly can't remember who makes it or where I found it. So far this set-up has proved to be rock solid and works great without the bulk of standard side mounts. I like it.

Travel delays kept the girl child from returning to the castle on time, so we did it via FaceTime...a first for me. Not sure I'll use it all the time, but it worked to share these pictures with her.
The selected recipient of the parts is tndrfttom! Something was said along the lines of "I like a few of them, but his is the only one actually shooting one..." Makes me want to get to the range soon.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for the pics! I love that old battle rifle and you guys have some interesting versions!

inspcalahan-
Many thanks for the M1A parts! I was (happily) surprised to win after seeing the other great rifle photos that were posted.
