Work at a Pawn shop that is also a gun dealer and we can't keep these things on the shelf!! They out sell everything we have 5 to 1 so far. Stick them in the case beside say a VE series Smith and they out sell the Smiths 10 to 1 no joke!
I handle them every day they aren't bad but don't get the absolute frenzy about these guns right now. So what am I missing here?

I've got one LNIB CPX2 sitting on the table nearby that a neighbor bought new and left here wanting to swap for a 642 since his wife can't work the slide. Never shot one so can't really comment but I do know a straight swap aint gonna happen. But for the money (I think app. $250???) it doesn't appear to be bad for a small staggered mag 9mm. I'm thinking price has a lot to do with the brisk sales.

While I don't own one, I know friends that do. They are cheap, they work, and customer service is excellent.

And you can get them with and without manual safety.

Me, I just love the acronyms, whatever the heck it is they mean.

I am with Bullet Bob. Most of the time I can figure out what the plethora of common forum acronyms mean, but not always. Reckon anyone has the time, inspiration, and inclination to collect the most used acronyms and 'splanify 'em for the great unwashed amongst us S&W-ophiles?

The SCCY's are KelTec clones. And yes, they are cheap (around $250) and like KelTecs they work. They are by no means a range gun but with a little fluffing & buffing are quite reliable. I don't own a SCCY but I've owned KT's for 20 years and use a KT P-11, 9mm for EDC. It holds 11 rounds and only weighs around 20 oz. loaded. It's DAO and I've put thousands of rounds through it without a hitch with several brands of ammo.

The SCCY allegedly has a bit better trigger than the Kel-Tec P 11. My FIL willed me one, which I sold. I prefer the Kel-Tec PF9, which is a single stack and also has a better trigger. It's about the same size as my Shield, but much lighter. Reliable and accurate for a small gun. Not lots of fun to shoot for prolonged range sessions.

I'm thinking you guys nailed with cheap and small.
I've never seen one.
The next time I go to a gun show I'll make an effort to look for one.
Usually when I Get to a table of black and plastic I kick it into passing gear and move fast!

When you say they're not a range gun do you mean because they can't take the abuse of shooting lots of rounds or just because they're not accurate.

My dad and I fondled one at a LGS. The low price caught my dad's eye while the black and orange combo (I said it needed a Harley sticker on it :p) caught my eye. They are inexpensive, but don't seem all that bad. I really like that they're made in Florida. I don't see them being a gun that lasts though, but I could be wrong.

Are the slide rails metal or plastic?

I say they are not a range gun because after 50 rounds or so it can be uncomfortable to the hand. Although I've shot more than that in a session. They are quite accurate out to about 10-15 yards. You won't get 1" groups but then it's a defense gun. The slide rails are metal but mine show no signs of wear after all the shooting I've done. I use a small amount of moly paste on the rails. Only the frame is polymar. And as epj states the factory trigger is lousy ! There is an after market trigger made by Northwood that is basically a drop-in modification and really makes a difference. It gives you a lot of firepower for a very light package.

We've sold a bunch of them, too. I think we have them
at $279.95 OTD. We haven't had any complaints. They
appear to be much higher quality than Hi Point, Cobra, etc.
