I'm not really up on those old single shots, although I have had a few; I believe that may be a Favorite, the best of the Stevens/Savage "Boy's Rifles".

I bought one for my oldest son about 35 years ago. He brought it over for me to keep at home. We can shoot in my back yard. I agree with Bigolddave it is a great Boys Rifle!

I have one similar to it. Stevens "Favorite." My great uncle bought it for $3.50 in 1915.
During Junior High through College years, I shot Jack Rabbits with it. Sold them to a mink farmer.

Box of Long Rifles cost $.50 back then.. Jack Rabbits would peek out of their holes during the winter time. Black eyeball against white background. One bullet, one rabbit.

Bought gas and beer with the proceeds.. Them was "fat cow" days for sure.

I see a Crack Shot for sale on GB for $350.00

I believe these were in the Savage catalog around 1972. I ordered one new (I think it was about $125.00). It was called a "Crackshot" but, as DRM50 indicated, internally it was completely different mechanically from the original Stevens Crackshot boys rifles. It was a nice looking little rifle but had a very heavy trigger pull with about 1/2 inch of overtravel after the trigger broke. You don't see many of them around. I'd say $200-$250; more for a really nice one or one in the box.

When I was a kid in Rawlins right after I-80 opened up, we would go out toward Wamsutter south of town and shoot jacks on the weekends. Sold them to the mink farmers and then went to Flying J's for dinner on Sunday night. I can still feel the wind blowing.
