Its the .22 TCM by Armscore, any experience with this "New" I think caliber? Sold as a kit type in 9mm & .22 TCM with the ability to shoot either cartridge by making some internal changes. I haven't held one but have heard from a couple folks and they are singing the praises. Your thoughts?

Since it's based on a 9mm case, you just have to change the barrel, I believe, and use the same magazine. It sounds interesting, but ammo might be too expensive to garner a good following. You could ask in the reloading forum if anyone is reloading it yet.

Ammo Prices for TCM

One of those who have this pistol had made a purchase of the .22TCM Ammo in 50 round boxes from Armscore, he said he paid $19.95 for 50 round boxes, little pricy but if they fly as fast as advertised I tend to say not too bad! Of course this is based on "Hear Say" and is not substantiated by written fact.

Cabelas carry the 22 TCM ammunition .The loading dies are proprietary and made and sold by the designer of the TCM . Don't know any more than that but one may be in the future. Found that they are based on the .556x45 shell Google is your friend

TCM .22/9MM

Any more TCM users here that would post their opinion and any experience with this relatively new pistol offering? Thanks to those who have and to those who will!

Well, on a whim I bought a rifle in .22TCM. I was looking for something like a 22 hornet when I came across it. Not a bad little cartridge and quite accurate. Downside is limited ammo unless you reload. Also, the ring of fire the thing shoots out makes everyone on the range stop to see if there was a Kaboom. Armscorp TCM powder is also very dirty. If I could find a matching pistol in .22 TCM I would grab it but this is California....

Here is a pic compared to a 9mm.

It's not based on the 9mm. It is actually the 223 case shrank down. I own a 1911 high capacity(17 round double stack mag)5" barrelled gun. Yes, factory ammo does 2000+fps mv out of my gun; chronographed a couple of different lots and all are right around 2050 mv with the 40 grain bullet. Fun gun to shoot; VERY loud; as loud or louder than 4" 357 mag fullhouse loads; very little recoil in the all steel 1911 framed gun..To change to 9mm all you have to do is change the barrel and spring.
If you've ever seen or read of the FN 5 seven, the 22 TCM is comparable.

Closest caliber that I ever had was a 218 Bee.
Shot it in a custom small action Martini.
Got about 3000 fps with 40 grain bullet, I think.
Easy to reload, on my short list of why did I sell that gun?

I have the TCM22/9mm, RIA single stack, 1911 commander length (4.25") It does chronograph factory ammo an average of 1914fps for 10 rounds. There are 2 slightly different 22TCM rounds, both based on the .223 case. The 22 TCM R, is slightly shorter to accommodate the conversion kits sold for 9mm glocks and others. The standard .22TCM, being slightly longer will not fit a 9mm magazine. The RIA pistols in single stack models use a .38 super magazine as it will accommodate both the TCM and 9mm rounds. I am also experimenting with reloading the TCM. So far I have not been able to match the velocity of factory ammo. There is very little information for reloading, so those of us that are doing it are in uncharted territory.

I have one and thus far I like it, I'm reloading for it but the ammo can be bought for just under 18 bucks per 50.
The video below was the first day I shot it, please excuse shooting off of a rest I was trying to keep from hitting my chrono. Average FPS is 2091.

Glock accessory barrels are available, Lee is making dies and the reloading components are available. All reports on the cartridge are positive. The rock island 9 mm, tcm combo guns are affordable and appear reliable.

I am not too sure what you call a "NEW" cartridge. The 22TCM has been with us about a decade now.

The cartridge development started with gunsmith Fred Craig as the 22 Micro-Mag. Martin Tuason came into the picture and the cartridge was renamed the .22 Tuason Craig Micromagnum or 22TCM for short

Rock Island Armory made the first commercially available firearms for it about 6-8 years ago. Fortunately Martin Tuason is the president of Armscor, the maker of the RIA firearms.

While most of the RIA 22TCM handguns are shipped with a 9MM barrel and spring, the pistols will also shoot 38Super with the same kind of swap. 22TCM does not fit in 9MM autoloaders. There is a variation with a very stubby rounded projectile that is loaded to fit not the shorter 9MM magazines (TCM 9r), but you lose all projectile compatibility with anything currently on the market.

I am converting one of my 38Super Colt Commanders to 22TCM.

The goal of the cartridge was to bring the performance of the FN 5.7x28 round into 1911 sized firearms. It does this admirably. The cartridge is a screamer. Factory ammunition leaves the 5" 1911's barrel in excess of 2000FPS. It can hit 3000FPS in a rifle. This is an extremely flat shooter and it is very, very low recoil.

For handloaders, dies have been available from Hornady and LEE for quite a few years now. Armscor does make the factory JHPs available to the public at a very reasonable price ($60/k). Virgin brass is also available. Additionally most projectiles (jacketed and cast) suitable for the 22 Hornet will work in this tiny bottleneck cartridge.

The 22TCM pictured above is in the range bag in my truck right now. I was supposed to shoot it yesterday but some Hurricane preparedness issues deprived me of that task. So I will shoot it tomorrow

I have the rifle and a commander size pistol , they are a hoot to fire and very accurate. Big hits when at the range.

Not according to Rock Island Armory. I asked specifically about it when I sent my TCM back to get it working right. Something about the extractor and ejector will not work with the semi rimmed 38 Super case.
