Pocket knife questions?
I have some pocket knife questions for the Female members of the Forum.
Do you carry a pocket knife? And what kind of pocket knife do you carry?

This Gerber Paraframe 1 knife and folding money are pretty much the only things that fit in my pocket. EDC for at least a year. Very happy with it.

My wife lost the Benchmade I gave her.... OK LOL maybe not lost but missing!
Anyway I think she has a Kershaw 3/4Ton floating in the bottom of her purse these days. Don't think she's ever pocket carried ..... even at the cabin........ one of my assigned task is to have "the knife" to borrow.

I do not possess the x chromosome but I am married to such a person. She carries and uses a Case bone handled peanut 2 blade folder. I know she uses it a lot a I have to sharpen it regularly. Her dad gave her a small penny knife when she was 5 years old that is a shell handled easy opener with a single blade @1" long. She carried this knife for years after we were married before she retired it.

A Gerber Covert Auto, and a Swiss Army knife. The Gerber is a recent addition, the SAK goes back over 40 years, in the form of 3 knives.

I have way too many pocket knives. This week a Cold Steel Code 4 clip point in CTS XHP steel and a Kershaw Shuffle 2 are riding with me.

Mrs exercised eminent domain over my Spyderco Delica after using it to cut up a couple rooms of old carpet, which it went right thru. I had no choice but to buy another for myself.

I have permission to say that I gave my wife and daughter SAKs:
* Victorinox Super Tinker
* Victorinox Classic (In "Stayglow" green. Because teen.)
I do not have permission to say my wife takes hers everywhere...which is why Homeland Security has added two or three of her previous pocket knives to their airport collection.
I also gave a Classic with limited edition Labrynth scales to our gamer boy son.

Mrs. Steamloco76 carries either a Kershaw Ken Onion design Leek (3" blade edge) or Scallion (2.5 inch blade edge) Speed-Safe assisted opening knife every day. She has a few different handle colors too. Great knives for the money.

I gave my wife a SAK Camper when we got married, she only used it when we went camping, for the first 20 years of marriage. I gave her a 104 function SAK for our 20 anniversary, It has a leather belt case, and lives in her purse. She has a Tinker she stole out of my drawer that she carries when not at work (must use only the issued box cutters at work!) She puts the Tinker in a belt pouch when we go camping or bicycling.
The "Wedding" Camper was given to our daughter when she got married, she carries it every time they go camping, which is about 8 weeks a year!
The Bible says, "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" Proverbs 22:6
My kids started carrying pocket knives when in grade school (age 10), (the small Christian school still permits this). All four won't be caught without a knife to this day, Good 'ole Solomon, knew what he was saying!

Get her a Spring assist job like my Sog Trident Tanto. Light and propels quickly for defense. Other good choices depending on how much ya want to spend. Buck has some good choices too.

My sister is confined to an electric wheelchair, in which she travels all over hell and gone. She carries a SOG Flash II assisted-opener that I gave her, and likes it a lot. (She won't consider carrying a gun.) I have one too, and it clips inside a hip pocket nicely, but most days I carry a Spyderco Endura--a little longer closed, but flatter, and easily opened with one hand like the SOG but without the spring assist.
She also wears a small neck knife on a chain, hanging down inside her blouse. I gave her that one too--I think it's a Cold Steel product.
Both the Flash II and Endura have 3.75" blades. For something a little smaller but still a great cutter the Spyderco Delica is a good choice, and SOG makes a smaller Flash I.

Conchita has a few pocket knives I have given her.sha hs some kind of Case commemorative trapper that she just had to have, but never carries. This year, I gave her a Case Seahorse whittler in smooth orange persimmon bone. It is a beauty, but I don't think she carries it.
She does carry the Rough Rider camp knife in red jigged bone and the Kershaw 1920 I gave her. She keeps the 5 1/2" stainless Mora I gave her in the kitchen as her go-to for food prep.

My wife has a CRKT folder she keeps in her purse, but I've never seen her put it in her pocket. Not sure what model it is but she picked it because she said it was nice.....
My 14 yr old daughter has a Benchmade Mini Barrage. I asked her once if I could have it and her reply was "If you can take it."
So I went and got my own.

I bought my wife a Buck 501 back in the day when we were deer hunting. She never uses it or carries it, but will not part with it, (I wanted to buy it back). It's a really nice locking blade.

My wife has some elcheapo Parker/Frost knife in her purse. It has a blade that looks like a razor blade, and as I remember, it's about that sharp.
I don't think it's there for fighting, but in case she needs to cut something. I try not to ask questions, nor look in her purse beyond getting the checkbook to pay bills.

Good call. That is my favorite modern folder. Good resale, too, if it comes to that. Pawn America gave my junkie stepson $80 for mine.

Wife carries a SAK in her purse. Seldom uses the knife blades, but uses the scissors plus phillips and flat screwdrivers all the time.
