What's the best deal for the p320?
Hi there! I was going to buy the current p320 compact until I heard of the new Sig p320 series hitting the market in March. Now I'm wondering which will be the better deal. Should I purchase the current p320c 9mm for $550 (CT's LGS price) and buy the new grip frames when they become available (not sure of price and availability at this time) or should I just wait and buy the new series once it hits the market? The tentative MSRP is around $800 or something close to that. Thoughts?

I have no idea. But I think that the practice of assigning the modular lockwork (trigger/hammer) mechanism a serial number, making it the BATFE legal "firearm" part of the pistol instead of the frame, is something worthy of note. Therefore, one can swap around frames with abandon.

No hammer. It's a striker fired mechanism.

I would look at the new P320RX options which will come milled and include a sig red dot for msrp of around $799. Saw these at SHOT and they are cool. And I have an M&P Core and really liked the Sig.

I think those are MSRP of $1000, not $799. Maybe I'm wrong, but here's is the video of it.
I'm looking for the compact size though.

Maybe it was street price of $799, but I remember the $799 part and being floored.
Here you go, 'compact frame, compact slide' sized: P320 RX Compact
MSRP of $869 with night sites, so that should put dealer pricing somewhere just south of the $799 number.

Striker fired pistols, by design should be inexpensive, not $1,000.00!
For that kind of money, I'd buy something like an HK USP Expert. Which is exactly what I did.

Thanks for the correction. I'm a little bothered that Sig jacked the price up that high for a simple striker fire pistol. $800 is a little steep for my pockets. I'm pretty simple when it comes to pistols and have a hard time justifying spending over $500. But I figure for this one time, I'll save up and take the plunge since I am only considering buying one gun this year. I know they'll be more sales around the holidays, but I'd rather not wait until Nov./Dec. to purchase a new gun.
