I have been wanting a Keltec Sub 2000 carbine for years now. I handled one of the early ones (with the plastic front sight) immediately prior to the Great Gun and Ammunition Shortage of 2012-2013. I didn't have the cash at the time so passed, soon they were "Unobtainable", used ones selling for crazy prices on the gun auction sights. I remember seeing one posted for $2000...
Who wouldn't want a 9MM carbine that takes Glock magazines, and folds into a 16" long package? I got to handle another about a year ago, had improved sights, no longer plastic, more in line with AR-15 sights. Quality had improved too, they just looked nicer. Didn't buy that one either, it was in .40 caliber.
So, not long ago I was in my favorite gun shop and they had like six of them in stock, 9MM and .40 caliber, Glock and Berretta mag carbines, OD green carbines, black carbines. What once was unobtainable was now plentiful. I got one that takes Glock 17 mags.
Shooting it was fun, surprisingly accurate and reliable. Soon I was hitting an 8" swinging steel target at 100 yards, prone, sitting and standing. Seemed like I couldn't miss.
What prompted me to post pictures of my Sub 2000 was getting a neat bag for it today, a reproduction canvas G.I. tool kit bag. The bag is 19" long, carbine is 16" long, so it fits with room to spare for ammo, mags, maybe a pistol and knife:
I am very pleased with the Sub 2000, a carbine that can be cairried on a motorcycle, in a backpack, under the seat of your car or truck.
