Remington 1911 R1

I have owned an R1 Enhanced SS for several years. It has proven to be completely reliable and accurate. Build quality is as good as any of the Colts that I have owned over the years. In my experience, the R1 is an excellent pistol and one that I will keep.

so was series 80 style used in Vietnam/WW2 or was it a series 70?

WW2 and Vietnam. series 70. The series 80 came later.

Thanks, makes me wonder why companies promote milspec 45's that are series 80 like the Colt Series 1991, Reminington R1, and Springfield Milspec?

all three look like great choices to me but just curious why wouldn't they be series 70.

Cabelas has R1 in stock which rules as I have a ton of gift cards saved.

Cabalas had a sale for a R1 $499 with club points and 20% off gift cards I got the firearm for $389.46 net cash out the door.
