Default What revolver is this???

Last week while in the French Army Museum in Les Invalides, Paris, I came across this unique revolver in the Napoleon III area.

Anybody have an idea as to this revolver's maker and other info?

Thanks for looking.

God bless,
Birdgun

An early example of why France has not won a major military conflict.

How true Thuer, and they also took the lions share of the casualties in WWI, along with the Brits. We had it relatively easy.
The Franco-bashing really gets out of hand.

About the Galand. It was just funny to see Tuco pick up first a Galand in the gunshop. It was not invented till 1869. But I do love that movie that much I forgiv the period uncorrect guns.

Nobody seems to remember that Napoleon won most of his battles, up until Waterloo, of course.

Maybe that explains Little Big Horn also. Tom Custer had one of those. A Galand and Sommerville.

He didn't take to LBH though.

One of the great mysteries lost to history - Just what revolver did Custer have on him at the LBH? Not that it would have made any difference in the outcome.

Read an article in "Men At Arms" wher thy were incined for a pair of Webley Buldogs.

For the difference on the outcome. Only if he could have called for "air support".

That Galand revolver looks like it was made by a committee that couldn't get along with one another and nobody was in charge.
