I like shooting the .380 cartridge but I have had some difficulty in getting a platform I liked that still had magazines and parts available if necessary and fit my hand tolerably well. I tried the Ruger LCP which was cool, but I never did warm up to the trigger. I just picked up a SIG 238 HD (steel frame) and so far I like it. The trigger is OK and will no doubt smooth out a bit. The sights are quite decent. I could use a little less aggressive grooving on the trigger but even that can be worked out if you want to. I put about 200 rounds thru it this morning without a hiccup. So far, so good.

Great Choice. The HD is a lot easier to handle.

Had one I got in Academy for $499, Great piece !!!!!!!!!! Couldn't have wanted better easy to hide in a pants pocket, 1911 platform . 500 rounds through it never a problem.
Friends wife liked it always wanted me to sell it since the price had gone up more that I paid.
Then one day on GB there was an auction ending in 20 minutes NO BIDS a S&W 686 2 and 1/2 inch pristine condition Hit the bid button got it for $540 O well Buddies wife owns the p238 But I have the Smith.
The P 238 IS AN EXCELLENT PIECE ENJOY
BTW- I sold the p238 for $550

I wasn't interested in semi-autos until the counterman put a P238 in my hands three years ago. It's been a great deep-concealment option.

Enjoy. :)

Just picked up a 938. When the 238 came out I was very interested, but the price and no ambi safety (lefty) kinda killed it for me. Ambi safety on the 938 really caught my attention, but again the price. Catching a good deal put one in my pocket.
Enjoy that 238!

I own several .380 pistols that are fun to shoot. Ruger Custom LCP, a pocket pistol I carry around the farm. Any of the Walther PPK or PPK/S pistols, and lastly but really fun to shoot, is a satin nickel Bursa Thunder single stack magazine pistol. Only the PPK & Ruger are pocket pistols.

So far so good on my little Kahr CW380  100 rds with one FTF . Yes, I heard the rep.

Slim, trim, light and a great trigger. Point and shoot, no thinking necessary.

The Sig P238 is a fantastic pistol, if .380 is what you're wanting. I don't shoot mine often, but it's always been 100%, superbly accurate and is the perfect size for optimum concealment when needed.

Mine is the diamond plate steel slide version - wasn't my first choice, but I was buying it from a friend and I've come to like it even more over the years.
