Hey all,

Recently I started a thread about my Manurhin MR 73. Well I finally picked it up and now would like some help dating it. The range report will be coming as soon as I have the chance to get out and fire it.

If anyone knows of any resources that would aid me in learning the date of mfg. I would greatly appreciate it.

The serial is: B14760

Thanks!

Also, I seem to be having problems with my pictures lately since photobucket eliminated free 3'rd party hosting. So if anyone knows of another website that allows you to do upload pics and freely post them here please let me know. Until I find another way to do this no more pics.
....

Why don't you just attach them at least in the meantime? It's simple, works directly from any device, and many of us prefer pictures that way anyways. Just "Go advanced" below the reply text window, "Manage attachments", and follow the prompts.

Thanks, will do.

Pics are up, any ideas on how to date this revolver is greatly appreciated.

It is either a 1st or 2nd generation, with a B prefix I would bet it is a 1st generation which off the top of my head would be 1974-78 time frame.

How do you feel about taking the side plate off? The first gen guns used a coil spring, the 2nd & 3rd use a leaf spring to apply pressure to the hand.

The factory will not look up a serial number except when requested by a police agency as part of a official investigation.

3rd gen guns all have a HA prefix serial and they started in 1995-96 time frame.

Thanks! I have no problem taking the side plate off. I need to take it apart and clean it anyway. Every gun I purchase I do a complete disassembly, thorough cleaning and reassembly.
