1911 Ransom Rest @ 100 Yards
Hello,
I just saw this incredible video of a 1911 fired from a Ransom Rest at 100 yards. It's a Pro Series X Longslide in 9mm by Accuracy X.
A custom 1911 pistol should NOT be able... - Accuracy X, Inc.
I am posting for information purposes only. I am not affiliated with Accuracy X or any related business.
To me, this is just cool!
By the way, Steve knows what he's doing as a shooter. His video on trigger control and reset is very good.
We've had requests for tips on trigger... - Accuracy X, Inc.
Together, there's some useful information and perspective here.
Best Regards Y'all,
Jim

Quite a feat, says as much about the ammo as the gun.

Ammo and gun and maybe perfect weather conditions for that group. Wow!

Fifty years ago both Al Dinan accurized pre 70 Colt government model 1911s I shot in 2700 matches and LEG Matches could put a 10 shot groups in the X-Ring shooting 185gr Commercial Match ammo or 230gr Hard Ball Military Match ammo from a rest at 50yds.

Seemed to me that if he had used a more rigid target stand probably would have had smaller groups. But in my mind getting that type of accuracy out of a 9mm at 100 yds is pretty amazing. Some years back a bunch of us were shooting 1911's with hard cast 230 grain bullets at 100 yds off a sand bagged rest. While watching through a couple decent spotting scopes. We thought we were doing well with 4" groups at that range. But the funniest thing was watching those 230 grain bullets kinda loop through the air on their way to the target and then through the target. Did get a bunch of laughs outta that shooting that day. Thanks for posting the link. And the memories. Frank
